Gavin & Stacey’s Mathew Horne looks worlds out of his sitcom character while showing off with a daring new hairstyle in Wimbledon with his wife Celina Bassili

Gavin & Stacey’s Mathew Horne looked away from his sitcom character when he showed a daring new hairstyle on Tuesday.

The actor, 46, was present Wimbledon Day two in South Londs with his wife Celina Bassili.

After the loved one BBC Show, where he played a titular character Gavin Shipman, ended up with the 2024 Christmas Especially, he seems to have grown his dark locks.

During the show, his character Gavin Short Hair has, but now he has opted for a longer and smooth look.

Before the tennis cross out he looked brave in a dark suit and white shirt, while Celina looked chic in a beige linen dress.

She completed her look with dark brown shoes and a stylish leather bag for the day out.

It only comes a few days after he had enjoyed a quiet trip to Glastonbury Festival during the weekend.

Fans saw the star while on Saturday morning with his wife Celina had breakfast.

Dressed in a black sweatshirt, shorts and a matching baseball cap, he and Celina were heard about which bands they were going to see.

A spectator said to MailOnline: ‘Mat has grown his hair, so he was almost unrecognizable, but then you hear his voice and there was no doubt that it was.

‘For his level of fame there was no fanfare at all, not like some of the other big stars. He sat still with his wife who took the sun.

‘It was only a few months ago since he was the star of the Gavin and Stacey Christmas Special Viewed by 18 million people.

“It was so refreshing to see.”

Celina posted a series of photos and videos on her Instagram site after she arrived on a worthy farm, including a sweet snap of the couple.

Mat went to Glastonbury earlier in 2009.

Mat and Celina married in a secret wedding held in a mansion from the 1930s in the Norway’s birthplace in 2021 after they started dating in 2019.

The actor would have welcomed the child with regular designer Bassili shortly after their wedding in September 2021.

Mat was previously engaged to Evelyn Hoskins, star of BBC Medical Drama Casualty.

Mat and his Gavin & Stacey Co star James Corden fell out in the late noughties after the success of BBC One Comedy.

While Corden became a star of Broadway and the West End after his appearance in Theater Show One Man, Two Guv’nors and Letterly Hollywood, where he organized the late late show on US Network CBS, Mat lived a much quieter life.

Mat plays Gavin, the son of Pam and Mick Shipman in Gavin and Stacey, who met on our scenes in 2007.

Good friends, including Gavin & Stacey Co stars James Corden And Joanna Page, was supposed to be aware of the birth – which was not made public by the pair at that time.

A source told Sun Last year: ‘Mathew is a brilliant father and he and Celina like to be parents.

‘Celina’s brother has a son who is a similar age and they kept spending time together.

‘Mathew also kept the news still because he prefers it to lead his life from the spotlight, even though he is a household name thanks to Gavin & Stacey.

“All his co-stars from Gavin & Stacey know that he is a father, including James Corden and Joanna Page.”

The actor was seen for the first time to kiss the set designer during a night out in Wales two years earlier, while they were filming the last Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special.

Bassili, who graduated from the University of Arts London with a first class diploma in set design, gives the Gavin & Stacey Special on its online resume.

With the kiss he seemed to confirm that his relationship was over with victim actress Evelyn Hoskins.

A spokesperson later told MailOnline: “Mathew and Evelyn were divorced in October 2018.”
