Dyson Is real, really good at moving air around. While the company has made its name in vacuum cleaners, it is now almost as well known for its air care equipment – it makes part of the Dear fans and the Best air cleaners Round, sometimes in one device. In fact, some can also heat or moisten the air, as required.
The Dyson aircare products are immediately recognizable, with most of them having a smooth, space time design that seems to be the wind from scratch. The disadvantage of such an established look is that it can be very difficult to see the difference between the different models in the range. With a wide selection of available options, it can be difficult to find out which product is which and then which to buy.
We have put together this guide to help you tell the difference between the different options, so that you can choose the right one for your needs.
Overall table
This table offers a very simple overview of the entire Dyson Aircare range. Click on the links in the ‘list price’ column to jump to the product list in Dyson in every territory. If the currency you are looking for is not mentioned, it is worth doing a fast Google, because the product may still be available to buy via an external retailer in that territory.
I mainly want a fan
Great! Most aircare devices from Dyson work as fans, so you have many options to choose from.
If you just Want a fan, the best option in the range is the CF1. This is an improved version of the original Dyson windless fan, added to the range in 2025. We loved it when we tested it for our Dyson Cool CF1 ReviewBut it is currently only available in the UK.
Your other option for fans alone is the AM07. This is much older, but still fairly easy to get hold of – you can find out what we thought of it in our Dyson Cool AM07 Review. Because both have only one function, they are to the cheapest options (although still not exactly cheap on the large scale of things).
If you suffer from seasonal allergies, you might want to consider a Fan-Purifier combination. Your most important options have names that start with ‘Purifier Cool’ and Code that contains a TP (although there is also a PC option that has only been thrown for fun). The cheapest and most basic option here is the Purifier Cool TP10, and the most advanced is the Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09. Note that adding formaldehyde removing options to each Dyson product greatly increases the price.
You may need a fan because your house is not so well insulated and you experience large temperature fluctuations between seasons. In that case you could consider a Fan-Heater combination. This option has the extra advantage that the device does not only collect dust in the summer months. The only option here is the Hot+Cool Jet Focus AM09. We have tested it, and you can see how we are doing with us Dyson AM09 Hot + Cool Review.
Finally you could go the whole pig and opt for a fan-Purifier-Heater. For this you want the Horsepower Reach, with names that start ‘Purifier Hot+Cool’. Options vary per country, but one that is available everywhere is the Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10.
I mainly want an air purifier
Great! Dyson has many options for air purification installations. This technology goes hand in hand with what the brand needs for its vacuum cleaners, so it knows what it does when it comes to catching particles.
If you only want air purification, view the Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde models. There are two somewhat different versions: the BP04 and BP03, the 04 of which is slightly higher. These are extensive and expensive and designed to quietly tackle large areas (up to 100 m²). The purification options are about the best that you find everywhere, stretch to absorb nasties that most air cleaners cannot handle, such as NO2 and Formaldehyde. You can read our thoughts about this reach in our Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde Review.
If you just want a puree for your bedroom or living room, and would rather be a little smaller and cheaper, we recommend a Purifier fan. Look in the TP range, with products that start ‘Purifier Cool’.
The most affordable, simplest model is the cool TP10 of the first generation Purifier. It still has excellent purification options, but it is not possible everything that the big+silent options can do. You can also opt for the Purifier cool formaldehyde TP09, which is more advanced.
Finally, you could go for a triple action model. The Purifier-Hater fan options have names that start ‘Purifier Hot+Cool’ and codes that start with HP, and the most available option is the Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10. As an alternative there are a number of options that change heating for humidification – in the US it is the PH03 and in the UK it is the PH04.
I mainly want a stove
There are no independent heating options in the range of Dyson, but it is included as a bonus function with some of the brand aircare devices.
The simplest and most affordable model is the Dyson Hot+Cool Jet Focus AM09, which works as a fan or as a heating, depending on your needs. Otherwise you have to opt for a three-in-one ‘Purifier Hot+Cool’ with a code name Start HP. All these can heat, cool or purify air. The most available is the Purifier Hot+Cool Gen1 HP10. We have tested the HP09 and you can read how we are with us with us Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool Formaldehyde HP09 Review.
I mainly want a humidifier
Dyson is not really aimed at humidifiers, but again, it is included as an added function on some combination-fighter-fan-purifier models. However, you are very limited in choice. In the US you have the Purifier Humidify+Cool PH03, and in the UK it is the Purifier Humidify+Cool Formaldehyde PH04.
