After the couple fell in love with the name, they later discovered that there was a lingerie line with the same name. However, they didn’t regret it.

Go to Reddit, The mother said: “I was almost due and my husband and I couldn’t agree on a name.

“So I was just texting him EVERYTHING at that point, trying to get him to say yes to something so we at least had a starting point.

“I typed in ‘Aiden’ and it autocorrected to ‘Auden.’ We loved it.

“Sometimes, if I want to make it sound a bit more fancy, I say we named him after the poet (which I only realized when I was trying to make sure Auden wasn’t the name of a notorious serial killer or something).”

While they stand behind the name choice, they discovered that the brand also has an underwear line in America.

The mother shared: “Unfortunately, there is now a line of intimate apparel for women Goal called ‘Auden’.

“Can you imagine that?”

Many people liked the name Auden and joked about the reference to the Target collection.

One of them said, “May your son support the girls in his life, just as Auden supports my girls.”

Another added: “I actually really like Auden. (: much better than Aiden, actually.”

A third commented: “I love this story, and the name! I know the line at Target exists and I’ve seen it multiple times, but honestly I never connected the two 🙂

“I still don’t like the name any less.”

And someone wrote: “No, but why is Auden my new favorite name depending on how you pronounce it?”

The Struggle of Choosing a Baby Name

CHLOE Morgan, a senior writer at Fabulous, has revealed her dilemma when choosing a baby name…

I’m 35 weeks pregnant and the hardest part of pregnancy these past few months (apart from the insomnia and countless nighttime wetting!) has been coming up with a baby name.

The dilemmas are endless…

My partner and I had a private ultrasound to find out the gender as early as possible. Part of the reason for this was that we thought it would make choosing a baby name a lot easier, as we would only have to come up with a list of names for one gender instead of two.

How wrong we were…

I was overjoyed to find out I was pregnant with the baby girl I had dreamed of for so long. But because I was one of the last friends to get pregnant, I have had countless conversations with excited friends over the years about their favorite baby names…something I would like to undo without ever having heard.

Every friend comes up with at least 10 possible nicknames and I can’t help but feel like more names are out of the question, even though I know no one would object. It’s just my own problem!

This debate comes up over and over again on social media: can you choose the same name that was a ‘potential’ name for your friend’s baby?

It’s a very divisive topic and opinions are always divided. And I don’t want to be THAT person.

While some argue that there are thousands of other names to choose from, others say that you should choose YOUR favorite. After all, there is no guarantee that person will ever have a child.

Then there’s the matter of finding a name you love… and then doing some research online and reading one negative comment among hundreds of positive ones that you just can’t let go of.

I made that same mistake when I fell in love with a certain name (I won’t tell because I don’t want to ruin it for others!)… and then I saw someone point out that the name constantly autocorrects on a phone to something rather rude.

So we went back to the drawing board.

Only five more weeks and it looks like our little girl will be called ‘baby girl’ for a while longer!

Looking for support, the mother went to the baby names thread in Mothernet to ask for advice on whether it is now too late to change it.

The mother said: “Before she was born we had a shortlist of three for a girl, when she came along DH admitted he just couldn’t accept one (my favourite) as a first name, so that became the middle name (Cecilia).”

“We were still undecided about the other two options, but ultimately chose Elise, a name we always liked,” she added.

After she announced her choice to friends and family, the parents realized they had been pronouncing the name wrong all along.

“We’ve now discovered that a lot of people pronounce it Eh-lees (with the second part as ‘lease’ as in leasehold). We always thought it was Eh-leez, and we like that a lot better,” she said.

“We’ve found that almost everyone pronounces it Eh-leez with a soft s so far. Is it wrong to pronounce it eh-leez?” she asked.

The mother explained that she found the whole process of choosing the name very stressful and that she doesn’t know whether she should reverse her decision and give the baby a different name.
