Luis Diaz added a message to his Instagram story, where Jota held the shirt up with Diaz on the back when the father’s father was abducted from the Colombians.
Jota was just married to Rute Cardoso, the 28-year-old mother of his three children and partner since the age of 16.
He had described himself as the happiest man in the world to be her husband, sharing moving images of their wedding day in his last Instagram post on Wednesday afternoon.
The couple came together in 2013, it was reported and has three children – two sons and a daughter born in November.
Jota often shared photos of him and his family on his Instagram account, while his wife posted images of their holiday in Dubai and Lapland.
They also have three pets.
On Wednesday, Jota and Cardoso, 28, posted video images of their wedding, with the caption: “A day that we will never forget.”
