I am a photographer and the newest camera telephone from Huawei has some of the wildest technology I have seen so far inclusive this world-firstest

There are now a number of incredible camera telephones from China, including the Xiaomi 15 Ultra with its 1-inch sensor and Leica lenses and the Vivo X200 Ultra With its innovative add-on-lens, but the newest offer from Huawei could surpass the party.
Deputy on 11 June, the Pura apparently has a triangular triple camera unit, but a second glance reveals that one of those lenses actually has twin telephone optics that share the same 1/1.28-inch sensor.
One of those periscope lenses is a 3.7x zoom and the other a monster 9.4x zoom. This space-saving arrangement, which uses a moving prism to change focal length, is unusual enough, although we have seen it earlier in the Sony Xperia 1 III From 2021 – but based on the specifications of Pura 80 Ultra, it looks like the real deal.
The switchable telephoto lenses offer a particularly versatile range of 3.7x Zoom is an 83 mm f/2.4 prime ideal for portraits, while the 9.4x Zoom a 212 mm f/3.6 equivalent IS-plus they share that 1/1.28-inch sensor, which is larger and not upholstered for telephoto-lenses.
My only reservation is that it looks like there is some pixelbinning or sensor cropping going on with the 9.4x zoom, which shoots 12.5 MP stills, in contrast to the 50MP stills of the 3.7x zoom. Anyway, the quality of the photos I have seen with both Telefoto -lenses, look impressive.
Could this be the world’s best camera phone?
As a photographer, the telephoto lenses look really useful, but I am just as impressed with the main camera. It is a 23 mm lens with variable f/1.6-4 aperture, using a larger still 1-inch sensor for 50MP stills.
Moreover, Huawei says that the main camera is able to capture 16 stops dynamic range, which would be a record for every smartphone.
The wider the dynamic range that a camera can capture, the more perceptible details you switch to highlights and shadows, which should cause more natural -looking images.
Completing the camera array is an ultra-wide 13 mm lens with 40MP stills, although Huawei does not mention the sensor size for this camera. It is a safe gamble that it does not match the quality of the main camera.
Unlike the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which I have been using for months and is a real alternative to my premium compact camera, I have not yet received the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, so I can’t be sure if it is one of the of the Best camera telephones.
The specifications are certainly striking, just like the optional photography edition kit from TILTA (see above). Add-on grasping the camera experience will be one thing-Xiaomi and Vivo’s previously mentioned smartphones have their own versions. Tilta, however, looks glorious exaggerated.
It includes a large grip, housing, extra food, continuous light and extra wooden handle. There is also more going on than the eye – it not only offers extra power, but can keep the phone cool and it makes focus functionality possible, which is a blessing for filmmakers. The kit also makes the use of extra lens filters possible, such as NDS, plus it comes with a portable carbon fiber -structural.
Just like earlier Huawei telephone is launched, the Pura 80 Ultra is currently only available in China and it costs CNY 9,999 (approximately $ 1,400 / £ 1,050 / au $ 2,150). It is recommended for a wider release, although not in the US.
