A male cyclist died after being beaten and trapped under a bus near Taronga Zoo in Sydney.

The man, at the age of his 1950s, was hit at Bradley’s Head Road in Mosman, on Sydney‘s Lower North Shore, around 10.35 am on Sunday.

Emergency services ran on stage and a specialized medical team was flown in by the care department.

The cyclist still has to be formally identified.

The bus driver was not injured and taken to the hospital for mandatory tests.

The four passengers on board the bus were not injured at that time.

“Officers affiliated with the North Shore Police Area Command have set up a crime scene that will be investigated by the specialist police of the Crash Investigation Unit,” said a spokeswoman for the NSW police.

Traffic drains are currently present and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

Mosman buses on routes 100 and 238 reject Bradleys Head Road because of the crash.

There are no buses from or from Taronga Zoo Wharf and buses start and end on traveling on Mosman Junction.
