I rode the first water wire in the world – it competitions Disneyland and it’s just a few hours from the UK

“Can we just go again?” My son begs while we back to the front of the queue (make full use of our fast passes).
I was on the front the first time and my shorts were soaked.
This time I had succeeded in getting a little less wet in the third row and so – in the name of research – I agree with another turn to see if the rear row is the place to be if you want to stay dry.
We become Mission Bermudes Tialling, the newest attraction at Futuroscope, the Thema Park Science-MEETS thrills in Western France.
The ride – which comes with splashes and surprises – was officially launched last month.
It is one of the most ambitious theme park in Europe to date, combining the weeks of chaos of a ride with white water with the G-Force drama of a roller coaster, all set in a spectacular physical environment with fog-propeded jungle, secret bunkers and a dazzling ride of ride.
On board the specially designed 10-person ‘rocking boats’, we have been told that we are on a rescue mission to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a scientific team that studies strange phenomena in the notorious triangle.
What follows is 10 minutes non-stop turns, reversals, near accident and a final with a vertical dive of 16 meters.

It is brave, astonishing (especially if you don’t understand French) and completely crazy – in the best possible way.
We start in a foggy swamp, avoid half-immersed aircraft wreck and pass long lost boats before we swing in stream rapes-where I have a miraculous way to stay dry this time and have a near-miss with a blowhole and then we are sucked backwards in a concrete bunker.
From there we are lifted into the air and spit on a rail that dives into a splash pool with speeds of more than 60 km/h.
What this attraction strikes is the technology.
If you feel on a boat on water, but the ride is actually on hidden rails and the electromagnetic engines have the ‘fluctuating boats’ climb slopes, run unexpectedly and even travel backwards.
While other attractions in the park use screens and 3D glasses, this is as if you are on the set of your own action film, complete with Hollywood-worthy special effects: bubbling geysers, falling trees and even a gigantic water bubble that is bursting with your boat.
The immersion is physically (quite literal if you position yourself on the front seat).
If Futuroscope is not yet on your radar, that should be.

It is all set in a spectacular physical environment that includes a jungle, secret bunkers and a dazzling vortex that threatens to suck the ride

Futuroscope is located near Poitiers in the West -Frankrijk region of Vienne and is one of the largest theme parks in France and attracts more than two million visitors a year

Opened in 1987, dates from both Disneyland and Parc Asterix and it has always been the smart cousin of the amusement park world – more science and space than superheroes and cartoons

Among the other rides we found movement simulators, interactive theaters and advanced projection formats aimed at space, climate, exploration and invention

Mission Bermudes is the headline act in a makeover of € 300 million that has transformed the place into a full resort, with two new hotels and a brilliant new indoor/outdoor water park called Aquascope -the place to get really wet.
While we leave the ride for the third time, my son runs ahead and repeats his call from “Only once more!”
This is the sign of a good ride – perhaps the most exciting you will find in Europe this summer.
