A cash-savvy mum has wowed social media users with her amazing bathroom renovation on the cheap.

As Brits on a budget look to spruce up their homes without spending a fortune, mum Victoria Caroline tells how she transformed her bathroom for just £300.

The mother, who shares the home with six others, had set herself a budget of £300

Victoria said that even though they had planned to demolish the bathroom next year, she couldn’t bear to see its drab state until 12 months later, after the extensive renovation.

“I really couldn’t keep this bathroom going for another year,” the DIY-loving mom explained in the video.

Armed with all the necessary tools, Victoria first covered the sink and surrounding walls with a cloth and sprayed the faucets and bathtub handles with black paint from Amazon.

This change, while simple and inexpensive, instantly made the space look more opulent. And anyone can do it, even if you don’t have the confidence or skills to DIY.

“The metallic paint will not come off. If the taps are sanded down properly, primed, then sprayed black and then finished with a matte lacquer, then there is no problem at all,” she praised the product in the comments.

Victoria, who shared the stunning glow-up on her page, @victoriacaroline.homealso tackled the ”dirty shower curtain”, which had become ”a health hazard”.

After sanding the ceiling – which she described as “an absolute mess” – the handy mom transformed it with two coats of white paint.

The huge makeover also included removing the silicone around the bath, which she admitted was “controversial,” but the mother was keen to change the tiles from white to a chic shade of beige.

Determined to create the ultimate ‘spa vibe’, Victoria – who shares the home with six others – reapplied the silicone and attached a matt black toilet roll holder and other fixings to the wall.

She said all the products had been purchased online, including a towel rail for £17.99 and a pull-out bath tray for £35.68.

The mother had also ordered a sleek shower wall with black elements. Although this was a two-person job, she said that the installation was not too difficult.

”It was easy, it’s in two parts. You silicone the back of the frame, secure it with a couple of screws, then lift the door in – two people recommended – and then screw three small screws through the back of the frame to hold the door in.”

Victoria proudly showed off the results, saying: “I’ve set a budget of £300 as my fiancé is going to rip it all out next year and have it all fitted brand new.

”I spent just over £70 on paint, £86 on a shower screen and £150 on accessories including a bamboo cabinet from Dunelm.

Four Cheap Home Renovation Tricks

YOU don’t have to spend a ton of money to give a room a new look. Here are five other home renovation tricks you can try.

Kitchen cabinets

One way to give your kitchen a complete transformation for less is to change the look of your kitchen cabinets. There are many different vinyl sidings to choose from, and it’s a quick and easy way to update your home.

Handles

Another thing you can try without spending a lot of money is to replace the handles. You can buy relatively cheap handles at hardware stores or even thrift stores. Adding new handles to your kitchen cabinets or doors in your home can be very effective.

Leftovers

Most of us have old, half-used cans of paint sitting around in the garage, but they’re often forgotten about. However, there could be enough in the can to paint an accent wall in another room, and you don’t have to spend a dime.

Free stuff

It’s worth checking your local Facebook Marketplace or Freecycle to see what other people are getting rid of. As they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. And if someone is planning to redecorate a room, they might want to get rid of a sofa or coffee table that could be used to give a lounge a new look.

”That brings me to £306 so I’m happy with the result and that I’m only £6 over budget.”

The stunning makeover clearly caused quite a stir, as hundreds of comments poured in complimenting Victoria on her fantastic DIY work.

A fan said: “I love seeing this as a DIY goddess.”

Another joked and pleaded, “It looks amazing! Please come do my 70s bathroom for me.”

“Honestly, it looks amazing so far! You did such a great job,” a third chimed in.
