A Texas high school teacher is being recognized for saving the life of a 15-year-old girl who was being sexually assaulted on the street.

Shocking footage shows the moment David Garza runs naked from his apartment after hearing the girl cry for help in East Houston last month.

Garza sprang into action, grabbed his gun and chased the attacker away.

Video footage of the incident shows Garza asking the suspect to stay away from the girl as he raises his gun and runs after the assailant.

“I looked out the window and saw a man beating up a woman on the ground. He was trying to take her clothes off,” Garza said. KHOU.

The teacher said he didn’t think twice when he heard the girl scream and ran to get his gun.

The suspect allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair when Garza confronted him.

Garza added: “I ran outside and asked what was going on. The girl was screaming, ‘I’m 15, help me!’ I pointed the gun at him and told him to get off her.

‘He immediately took his hands off. He went after her, so I went after him.

“She escaped. She went to the apartment of someone she knew.”

According to authorities, the girl was followed by the suspect as she got off the bus just before midnight on July 28.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was wearing a black hoodie with a white Reebok logo, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
