A woman was shot in the back of what the police call a 'targeted' attack after he was lured out of her house by a suspect disguised as a construction worker.
Video images released by the York regional police shows the shooter who lure the 41-year-old victim around 5:30 pm on January 21 in Markham, Ontario, just north of Toronto.
The suspect, who controls a dark Audi A4 -Sedan, parked outside the victim's gated home.
Dressed in a clear safety vest, a yellow construction helmet and a blue medical mask, he waited for the snow -covered sidewalk.
The woman, who had just arrived at home, met the suspect outside. She is not mentioned and it remains unclear why she was the target.
“We see a male party that has interaction with our victim, who walks back and forth in front of the house,” the regional police spokesperson for York James Dickson told CP24 -News on Wednesday.
“There was a conversation that was being held.”
The short exchange led the victim and suspect to the edge of her driveway, where she handed him a piece of paper and a pen.

A little later, while she turned around to walk back to her house, the suspect pulled a gun and shot her in the back once.
The firearm seemed to be defective, but the shooter fired two extra shots while the woman ran for safety.
The suspect then sprinted to his car, made a U-turn and fled the stage.
Although he was struck by one bullet, the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was treated in a hospital and has since been released.
The police believe that the attack was premeditated and says that the victim did not know the shooter.
Authorities describe the suspect as an Asian man with a slender build and keep looking for him.

According to the Toronto Sun, this is the second targeted shooting on the same feature.
On June 8, 2024, a man was admitted to a hospital in a similar unsolved case.
