I got a nasty sunburn from my new sunscreen – learn from my mistake
One SUN worshiper learned the hard way that having the best product means nothing if you don’t know how to use it.
The fancy sunscreen she tried didn’t work well — and it showed.
In a now viral video, TikToker Stephanie Ella (@czechprincess) wondered how she got such an ugly sunburn.
“I was wondering how this could have happened,” she said, turning around and painting a clearer picture of the situation.
Her entire back seemed to be covered in streaks – lines of her natural skin color, surrounded by red burnt patches in between.
The sunscreen had certainly done its job where she had applied it.
If only she had been a little more generous and covered her entire bottom.
Still, she could make fun of her striped skin.
“Well, I wanted you to do a commercial for the best sunscreen ever, Shiseido,” she said.
She showed how to roll it up, which she demonstrated on her arm.
“Make sure you roll it everywhere,” she said.
After learning her lesson, she wouldn’t make that mistake again.
At least she knew that if used properly, it would be a success without any streaks.
“If this doesn’t get me a sponsorship from Shiseido, I don’t know what will,” she joked.
If you’d like to try the product out for yourself now that you have the proper instructions, you can purchase Shiseido’s Clear Sunscreen Stick from Sephora for $32.
Other users agreed that she was indeed a walking billboard for the brand, even with a sunburn.
“At least we know it’s effective,” said one viewer.
“I feel like you literally tested it for them,” another onlooker noted.
“I thought you had your back against the fence and the sun was shining through,” one follower joked.
“A cautionary tale and a great product advertisement all in one,” noted another.
One follower had his own words of wisdom when it came to protecting himself from the sun.
“Australians here – if you put on sunscreen, you need to apply it. Roll-on, spray, liquid, you need to apply it all the time,” they said.
