Donald Trump does not want David Miliband as the next American ambassador, a Republican Bron has claimed in the last blow to Sir Keir Starmer.

The prime minister is encouraged to remove Peter Mandelson as a candidate because of his connections with the EU and China.

In the meantime, Mr. Miliband has tried to get the job if Lord Mandelson does not get the desired role.

President Trump, however, said to the sun: “However, Trump does not like Peter Mandelson, but he also doesn't have time for David Miliband.”

The source added: 'Miliband would never become an ambassador. Nobody who is called miliband has a chance. '

Mr. Miliband is the brother of Ed Miliband, the environmental secretary and leader of the Labor Party and opposition from 2010 to 2015.

Lord Mandelson is the first choice of NO10 for the roll in Washington and some are pretty sure that he will receive approval from the White House.

For an ambassadorial nominee to formally take on their function in Washington, the president must accept the 'letters of faith'.

But in the midst of a series of briefings from Mr Trump who convicted his appointment, former Foreign Minister, Mr. Miliband, tried to play the role.

A source said earlier that Dame Karen Pierce wanted to cover Mr. Trump's return and hoped that he would block the appointment.

But a spokesperson for the British embassy said that the claims about Dame Karen were 'categorically untrue'.

A source of the embassy added that although it was possible for Mr. Trump not to accept Lord Mandelson's references, it was 'very unlikely'.

Earlier this month, the post revealed that Lord Mandelson had not been invited to Trump's presidential inauguration.
