I work on fashion shoots – changing your underwear prevents sweat from dripping
WORKING on set in the fashion industry taught one woman a host of tips and tricks, including how to keep sweat from ruining your clothes.
The secret to looking better may be your choice of underwear.
Reddit user Ice cube machine gave the details in a response on the social media platform.
“During fashion shoots, we often stick sanitary pads on areas where there is a lot of sweat. We do this with the same surgical tape that you use to stick IV needles,” she says.
She also recommended taping the pads in place with ‘boob tape’, an alternative to wearing a bra.
She had a few more tricks up her sleeve to stay dry, even when the pressure was high.

Another tip from the makeup artist was a way to dry out unwanted moisture.
“We also use crystal deodorant,” she said.
She also suggested figuring out what type of underwear works best.
“You can try lightweight, cotton panties from theater stores, or running shorts that wick moisture,” she said.
“People often have a preference for ‘loose’ or ‘tight’ underwear. You have to experiment to find what works best for you.”
She recommended consulting a professional to find underwear that you could also wear under your clothes.
“It prevents sweat stains or odors on items that you can’t easily clean, but it also absorbs sweat, such as wearing a [tank top] under a shirt in the heat for men.”
She had another tip to keep moisture out: choose your underwear.
“A lot of people wear swimwear instead of underwear because it’s more resistant to moisture,” she said. “Less chafing.
“But also check out one of those Speed Stick-like Bodyglide products that runners use.
“They are much more resistant to sweat than scouring cream and are less likely to leave stains on a dress. Test it on a plaster first.”
Body Glide Original Anti-Chafe Balm is available on Amazon for $8.99.
Other Redditors gave their opinions on her style tips.
One of them agreed that she used crystal deodorants.
“It was a real breakthrough for me and made my hyperhidrosis/body odor completely disappear.
“Also stay away from poly underwear/shapewear.”
