People gasp as mother-in-law ‘deliberately’ ‘ruined’ gender reveal
PEOPLE are stunned after a woman shared the exact moment her mother-in-law ‘ruined’ her gender reveal.
Shant, a pregnant mother of one, hosted a gender reveal party with her closest family and friends so she and her partner could reveal the gender of their baby.
In a short clip shared on social media, Shant and her husband, along with their young son, were seen as they prepared to make the announcement.
Shant, a 30-year-old woman, stands in front of a fancy balloon arch with a white sign that reads “Boy or Girl?” wearing a strappy white dress as she holds up guns with her husband of four years, David.
But before they could even begin a countdown and the guns were fired, a loud noise arose from the crowd of their guests.
The couple’s faces immediately fell and Shant didn’t look particularly impressed.

The video announcing the gender of the failed reveal was quickly moved to the party guests, who were all holding guns.
The guests, however, were all completely stunned and had their mouths open in fear. They were covered in small pieces of blue confetti.
Shant explained that her mother-in-law was indeed to blame, writing, “First rule of gender reveal: Never give a canon to your mother-in-law.”
It has not been confirmed whether it was a mistake or not, but while all the guests could not believe it, we heard one woman say, “I knew this would happen.”
At the end of the clip, as the camera pans back to Shant and her partner, the content creator can be seen attempting to smile as a woman leans into her shoulder to give her a hug.
The boy’s mother claimed her gender reveal was “ruined,” writing later: “Luckily it’s the second one.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @shantylawilhas clearly caused quite a stir, as it quickly went viral and now has a whopping 10.9 million followers.
Social media users were shocked by the mother-in-law’s actions and many shared their thoughts in the comments.

The most expensive gender reveal in the world
The gender reveals are getting bigger and more elaborate by the day as people are constantly thinking of ways to outdo their predecessors.
And for many of these couples, money is no object: some spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on the event.
Read on for some of the most expensive gender reveals in history.
Ste Hamilton
Wealthy property magnate and YouTuber Ste Hamilton decided to gift his future wife Isabella Rowles a Lamborghini worth £300,000. The Lamborghini would be in either pink or blue, to symbolise the gender of their baby.
Steven and Isabella attended an extravagant event at the Belfry Hotel and Resort near Birmingham with friends and family and discovered they were having a boy.
“It was worth every second of the hard work to see the joy on everyone’s faces that day,” said Ste, after spending another £40,000 on the big reveal.
Logan-Paul
The wrestler and YouTuber and her fiancée Nina Agdal hosted a public wrestling match to reveal their gender.
A wrestler in pink swimsuit competed against a wrestler in blue. The wrestler in pink came out on top, meaning they were having a girl.
Inga Stumbriënne
The Lithuanian influencer rented planes to fly through the sky as she, her fiancé and their loved ones looked on.
A shower of blue confetti was dropped from the plane, revealing that the couple were having a boy, but people continued to insist that this was the ‘most polluted’ gender reveal ever.
Anonymous couple
One of the most recent, jaw-dropping gender reveals came in May 2024, when a couple decided to PAIN a waterfall to reveal whether they were having a boy or a girl.
After the videos circulated on social media, the public demanded that the couple be punished, with some suggesting they go to jail.
Others were concerned about the contamination of the water, as the pair had used a chemical powder known as “Blue Lagoon” in the Queima-Pe River, which feeds the waterfall.
A third commented: “I would have cried and thrown her out.”
While someone else claimed: “These are 100% not easy to pop.. she did it on purpose.”
We went ahead and made them pop! It was our second child and we wanted more people to be involved
Curse
In a follow-up segment, Shant confirmed that despite her mother-in-law’s confirmation that they were expecting another boy, the couple still used the guns.
As the guests counted “1, 2, 3,” the parents fired their cannons, shooting blue confetti throughout the room, sending the guests into a frenzy.
Shant later added: “We just had to let them go! It was our second child and we wanted more people to be involved.
“There was no swearing, there was no anger… I was fine, guys.”
The Struggle of Choosing a Baby Name
CHLOE Morgan, a senior writer at Fabulous, has revealed her dilemma when choosing a baby name…
I’m 35 weeks pregnant and the hardest part of pregnancy these past few months (apart from the insomnia and countless nighttime wetting!) has been coming up with a baby name.
The dilemmas are endless…
My partner and I had a private ultrasound to find out the gender as early as possible. Part of the reason for this was that we thought it would make choosing a baby name a lot easier, as we would only have to come up with a list of names for one gender instead of two.
How wrong we were…
I was overjoyed to find out I was pregnant with the baby girl I had dreamed of for so long. But because I was one of the last friends to get pregnant, I have had countless conversations with excited friends over the years about their favorite baby names…something I would like to undo without ever having heard.
Every friend comes up with at least 10 possible nicknames and I can’t help but feel like more names are out of the question, even though I know no one would object. It’s just my own problem!
This debate comes up over and over again on social media: can you choose the same name that was a ‘potential’ name for your friend’s baby?
It’s a very divisive topic and opinions are always divided. And I don’t want to be THAT person.
While some argue that there are thousands of other names to choose from, others say that you should choose YOUR favorite. After all, there is no guarantee that person will ever have a child.
Then there’s the matter of finding a name you love… and then doing some research online and reading one negative comment among hundreds of positive ones that you just can’t let go of.
I made that same mistake when I fell in love with a certain name (I won’t tell because I don’t want to ruin it for others!)… and then I saw someone point out that the name constantly autocorrects on a phone to something rather rude.
So we went back to the drawing board.
Only five more weeks and it looks like our little girl will be called ‘baby girl’ for a while longer!
