The police are chasing a gang of 'Ted Lasso burglars' who reportedly attacked a series of houses of millions of pounds after they had played in the popular comedy show.
Among the victims was the British rock legend Richard Ashcroftt, who, according to The Sun, had stolen about £ 1 million in valuables from his property in Richmond Green in London.
The locals suspect that professional criminals have focused on four houses in the area after they had seen them in the series with Jason Sudeikis and Hannah Waddingham in the lead roles.
A large part of Ted Lasso is located around Richmond Green, a prosperous suburb of London that is known for its Georgian buildings and picturesque pubs, shops and cafés.
Jason's character, an American football coach, even leads the fictional side AFC Richmond in the series.
A resident said: 'You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to find out that someone from the gang probably watched the program [Ted Lasso] at some point.
“They must have realized which rich harvest could be removed from the area.”
The first burglary took place on November 8, when a building with eight bedrooms was looted. The thieves ran away with a safe with valuables in it, including jewelry.
At the beginning of December a £ 3.3 million house used by Hannah's character, businesswoman Rebecca Welton, would have been the target.

The raid, however, failed and the suspects ran away and left a ladder in the garden in their almost.
About two weeks later, about £ 400,000 in jewelry was stolen from a building with four bedrooms in Richmond Green.
It is believed that the burglary in the House of Ashcroft, worth £ 8 million, took place on December 28, while his wife Kate Radley was absent.
One neighbor tried to call the police when the burglary alarm went off, but the gang had already fled with £ 1 million in valuables when the agents arrived.
A furious resident said: “The police had had a good chance to get the gang when they showed up when they were called.”
They added that the entire neighborhood now lives in fear whether they will be the next target of the gang.
According to The Sun report, the police suspect that the crimes are being committed by a team of professional criminals from South America.
The raids reportedly involved 'four suspects with olive -colored skin', who used cowfoets and wore caps and gloves.
