A young boy was reportedly attacked by a male stranger in broad daylight in a park in the northern suburbs of Darwin on Sunday.
The 11-year-old was reportedly followed by Asche St, before he entered William Forster Park, in Muirhead, where he was beaten on the ground at about 15.05.
“The perpetrator would have attacked him further while he was on the ground before the victim was able to get away and to call for help,” the police said.
The alleged perpetrator had followed the boy on a black push scooter of two wheel, which he fled out of the scene after the incident.
The police described him as being Aboriginal at the latest, between 16 and 18 years old, about 5'10 ”(178cm), with a lean construction and swollen hair.
The alleged perpetrator reportedly wore a long white and black dress at the time of the alleged attack.
Everyone who has seen what happened, or who has CCTV or Dashcam images of the area between 2 and 3:30 pm, is encouraged to contact the police.
Investigations are underway.
