McDonald’s Australia Raises Prices Without Anyone Knowing
McDonald’s has quietly increased the prices of its most popular menu items as Australians grapple with rising inflation and a cost of living crisis.
Daily Mail Australia compared the prices of iconic products such as the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder and Happy Meal in 2019 and 2024.
Most menu items have increased in price by at least $2 and cost more if ordered through delivery services like UberEats instead of in-store.
In 2019, a basic cheeseburger cost just $3.15. Today, it’s $4.95.
The Big Mac, which cost $5.65 in 2019, now costs $7.90.
The Quarter Pounder, which cost $5.65 in 2019, is now worth $8.
The McChicken used to cost $5.65, but now costs $7.35.
Prices for popular McDonald’s items such as the Big Mac, cheeseburger and McChicken have soared again as a result of Australia’s rising cost of living
A Happy Meal cost $5.30 in 2019. Now you pay between $5 and $8, depending on the McDonald’s location and the type of Happy Meal.
A soft serve ice cream cone with a flake used to cost 60 cents, but now costs $1.50.
Six Chicken McNuggets, which used to cost $7.30, now cost $8.10.
Menu item prices vary slightly by location, as in some cases franchisees are responsible for setting and adjusting prices.
Australians are also paying more for Uber Eats and the My Maccas app than the prices listed on Frugal Feeds for August 2024 (pictured: McDonalds burgers)
Australians will also pay more for their favourite Maccas items through Uber Eats.
On Uber Eats, a cheeseburger costs $5.65, a Big Mac costs $8.70, a Quarter Pounder costs $8.80, a Happy Meal costs $8.85, and Chicken McNuggets costs $11.45.
A McChicken costs $8.85 and a Filet-O-Fish costs $8.10.
