Shoppers groan as autumn clothes hit Primark shelves in August
Weather-wise, it’s not the best summer the UK has ever had.
That’s why thousands of Britons can’t wait to usher in autumn so they can get their comfy clothes out of the closet.
And in true Primark style, the brand is responding to the needs of people who suffer from bad weather.
The fast fashion retailer has already discontinued part of its fall collection, including comfortable tracksuits.
“Did someone say it’s sweatshirt season?” the social media team wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of a sweater and sweatpants set.
They showed off Primark’s new Graphic Skinny Fit Joggers and the matching Graphic Sweatshirt in beige, both featuring the Beverly Hills logo in blue.
The complete set costs just £18 and some fashionistas will want to get their hands on it as soon as possible.
“I love this set,” someone commented.
“I already have the sweater,” beamed a second.
But not everyone is convinced that Primark is already selling autumn clothes.
“No, it’s August,” groaned one Instagram user.
“There are sweaters at Primark,” another shopper echoed on X, formerly Twitter.
“It has started.
“Fashion for fall and winter in August.
“I don’t want to say goodbye to the daylight.”
Earlier this week it was announced that Primark has officially launched its Halloween home collection for this year.

ABBY McHale explains why Primark is known for its nightwear department.
Large parts of the stores are occupied and they sell everything from trendy satin styles to soft Disney pyjamas and everything in between.
Plus, it means you can look and feel good when you go to bed without breaking the bank.
It’s also a great place to score a pajama knockoff.
Last year Primark had a great version of the Skims pyjamas and the latest dupe is from Victoria’s Secret.
The pink striped pajamas match very well with those of the American lingerie brand, I have one myself.
They are light, super comfortable and cost a fraction of the price. What’s not to love?
And now the brand is promoting sweatshirts and sweatpants that fit the cold theme.
Autumn is the season for dressing in layers in preparation for the harsh British winter.
When the leaves start to fall in September, a wardrobe change is essential for most of us.
Ditch the airy summer dresses and light T-shirts and replace them with the ultimate fall outfit: a tracksuit.
Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea to prepare yourself and get one in August after all.
