‘Our Favorite Transformation,’ Say Homeowners of Their Epic Staircase Makeover
A DIY-loving couple have wowed social media users with their stunning, affordable staircase renovation.
Homeowners Will and Jordan showed on TikTok that you don’t have to spend a fortune to give your home a makeover.
The creative couple, who moved into their very first home at the beginning of June, have been busy in recent months making the house more cozy and welcoming.
In addition to buying a bunch of stuff to brighten up the space, the 25-year-old couple also gave the boring staircase a whole new look and added some character in a budget-friendly way.
Before the impressive transformation, the area looked drab, with white walls, simple gray carpet and white wooden banisters.
But with a little handiwork – and the help of Will’s father – the young duo transformed it with panels.
Wall panels are extremely popular and provide a decorative accent to your home, and are relatively easy and inexpensive to install.
Not only can panels be a great way to add texture, depth and interest, they can also be functional, for example by adding an extra layer of insulation to a room.
Moreover, the experts at National Plastics saidWall panels can also help you keep your home warm and even reduce your heating costs.
Other DIYers can find this feature in most home improvement stores or order it from Amazon and other retailers. Jordan and Will, however, bought theirs from B&Q.
With prices starting from just £15, the popular retailer offers a wide variety of affordable wall panel kits that are also easy to install, even if you’re not a DIY enthusiast.
Before installing the panels, the couple, who had been saving money for their home for six years, decided what color to paint the boring white walls.
Once they had made their choice – a beautiful light beige shade for the ultimate neutral look – it was time to attach the panels.
Jordan admitted to a viewer that he needed help with this.
“My friend’s dad did it and it took a lot of complicated parts and cutting, but he finally did it,” she said in the video.
After the wooden panels were attached to the wall, the young couple got to work on the paint, using a total of two coats to achieve the final finish.
”We had our carpets changed from grey to cream and both colours match perfectly. I am so happy with the result.
”We still have to touch up some small things here and there as we lifted and lowered things during the renovation.
