Defense heads have been used to expensive drugs for lowering celebrities in an attempt to get more troops suitable for fighting on the front line.
Figures obtained by the mail have unveiled more than 500 recipes for Semaglutide, the active ingredient in trendy products such as Ozempic and Wegovy, have been issued to staff.
The medicines are signed by commanders, while essential exercises are reduced and the purchases of equipment are canceled to save money.
Last night the Ministry of Defense confirmed that the medicines, when prescribed, were probably for disorders such as diabetes, which are directly related to obesity in adults.
The 81 troops that have received Semaglutide, which were fashionable in the UK by TV personality Jeremy Clarkson and James Cordon, could only have developed diabetes as adults and because they had committed themselves to the armed forces.
That's because the army, the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force are exempt from the Equality Act and can therefore prohibit people with diabetes and other disorders to become a member.
The cases of those who develop diabetes are managed by doctors of unity.
They are not automatically fired – but they cannot be used in the front line because of their high level of dependence on medicines.

Defense sources also confirmed that an increase in 400 percent recipes in 2024, compared to 2022, was due to medical facilities on offering the offers of military bases that were more consistent with NHS standards.
A total of 509 recipes were written.
Last year, 267 expensive regulations for Miracle Slimming -Medicijnen were signed by doctors, an increase of only 60 in 2022.
The medicines are priceless expensive and are effectively ranced by general practitioners.
Semaglutide is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring hormone glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1), which helps regulate blood sugar levels.
Weight gain in troops is generally linked to a poor diet, in particular excessive consumption of sugar -high carbohydrates and sugary drinks – that are immediately available on bases.
Last night, Minister of Shadow Armed Forces Mark Francois said: 'With almost a quarter of our regular army not medically, fully deployable, we must clearly tackle this.
Jeremy Clarkson previously admitted that he had taken Ozempic to reduce his weight
“With the defense budget already under serious pressure, I wonder if the dolls of expensive weight loss drugs are really the best way to tackle the problem, instead of intensive physiotherapy for injuries and better training.”
Semaglutide has been approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence as a treatment option for adults who are overweight or obese, subject to certain criteria.
Excessive amounts of body fat can cause type 2 diabetes. The risk of developing the disease also increases linearly in line with an increase in the Body Mass Index.
Previous measures to encourage troops to 'fight fat' include the prohibition of Greggs.
In 2018, the E -mail troops of the Royal Dragoon Guards, stationed in Catterick Garrison in North Yorkshire, was told not to use the popular bakery.
More recently, the e -mail has unveiled a series of alarming cuts in the field of Defense, signed by ministers, in a desperate attempt to ensure that they have not spent their budgets too much.
These include the cancellation of important training exercises, overseas trips and drastic cuts on the spending for ammunition.
Desperate officials even identified a cent that set £ 13,000 subsidy to the famous Chelsea retirees in the Royal Hospital Chelsea before the mail arrived.
According to the most recent figures, more than 13,000 people in the forces of the UK are 'not medically deployable'.
Actor and presenter James Corden also admitted that he was trying to try Ozempic for weight loss
These limited tasks can only serve at certain locations or in a limited capacity due to health problems.
The Royal Navy has 2,922 sailors in this category, the Royal Air Force has 3,721 pilots in it and the army has categorized 6,879 soldiers as 'MLD' (medically limited deployable).
Service staff with medical disorders or fitness problems that influence their ability to perform their duties are generally referred to a medical council for a medical examination and revision of their medical assessment.
They can be relegated to make treatment, recovery and rehabilitation and employability status possible, can be granted on a temporary or permanent basis.
Ministers have stressed that Great Britain must rebuild 'depth' in its armed forces to support the contribution of the UK to any involvement led by NATO with Russian troops.
Head of Defense Personnel (CDS) Admiral Sir Tony Radakin has also admitted that the British army is suffering from 'shortcomings' in people, equipment, stocks, training and technology.
He said, “We need the humility to acknowledge that we are not as strong as we can be and then the determination and focus to put this right.”
The mod has claimed that 'about 90 percent' can be used from troops, with most rest in wider military roles – but they cannot fight.
Figures have also unveiled an alarming downward trend in staff classified as ready for fighting in all branches.
About the armed forces, the total number of battle for the whole of the Line was 74,966 in 2022.
This fell to 70,290 in 2024. The reduction also reflects a contraction in the size of the armed forces.
Last night the Ministry of Defense said: 'The level of obesity in our forces is extremely low.
'These figures show that only a very small number of medicines are prescribed for only long -term weight management – which represent only 0.4 percent of service personnel.
“As service personnel experience problems with regard to their weight, medical and nutritional advice and support are offered.”
