Death in Darkwood, Coffs Harbour: Woman, 35, charged after man’s body found in surfboard bag on driveway of rural property
A woman has been charged after a man’s body was found in the driveway of a rural property.
Emergency services were called to a home in Darkwood, about 67km west of Coffs Harbour, at around 7pm on Thursday after reports a body had been found.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District attended the scene and found the body of a 62-year-old man in a surfboard bag on the driveway of the property.
A crime scene was established and officers from Coffs/Clarence police district – assisted by officers from the State Crime Command’s homicide squad – established Strike Force Nome to investigate the death.
Police arrested Lisa Marie Cummings, 35, of Nambucca Heads at approximately 2.10pm yesterday on Loftus Street, Nambucca Heads.
She was taken to Macksville Police Station where she was charged with murder (domestic violence).
The police will testify in court that the woman and the man knew each other.
Cummings appeared before a clerk in Port Macquarie District Court on Saturday. She did not apply for bail, which was formally denied.
She will appear in court again on Monday.
