The Belgian-born grandmother, who has lived in Italy for the past 30 years, has become an internet sensation after her granddaughter, Alex Koekies, started sharing videos of her beauty routine on TikTok.

While the grandma buys a few skincare products here and there, such as Avène Cleansing Foam (£15), the beauty also eats nutrient-dense foods.

And the best part? They’re both unremarkable and prohibitively expensive – with one antioxidant bomb costing just 89p at Aldi.

At breakfast, the Italian grandmother drinks a cup of black coffee, which she serves with Skyr yogurt and some blueberries.

Blueberries are rich in antioxidants and can help fight free radicals responsible for premature aging, wrinkles and other skin problems.

Blueberries are sweet and juicy and can be bought from most supermarkets for around £1 (Aldi costs £89). They are also said to improve skin texture, reduce dark circles, hydrate the skin, increase collagen production and make the skin glow.

Meanwhile, the 88-year-old fashionista heads to a café for her second breakfast, where she treats herself to a cappuccino and an Italian croissant.

Around lunchtime, grandma likes to enjoy a ‘little [little] glass of white wine”, served with chicken and potatoes.

The humble potatoes are available year-round and may have “anti-aging benefits for the skin due to their vitamin C and B-complex vitamins, antioxidants,” reports the Times of India.

Previously another beauty fanatic, @skyesfskinwho claims to be a certified skin consultant, revealed how she uses the root vegetable to combat dark circles under the eyes.

The skin guru claimed that this was because potatoes contain many substances such as azelaic acid, which ‘lighten dark spots’.

This Sunday meal essential can also help hydrate skin and combat hyperpigmentation.

The expert showed that the best way to achieve the ultimate result is to gently rub raw potato over a makeup-free face and leave it on for about 25 minutes.

Later, when it’s time for dinner, the 88-year-old beauty likes to eat pasta alla vongole, filled with fresh mussels.

Mussels are packed with vitamin C and iron and can contribute to collagen synthesis, which in turn improves overall skin tone, according to the experts at Salt & Barrel.

But while the stylish grandma may seem to eat relatively healthy and clean, she certainly hasn’t forgotten that life is all about balance, and that at the end of the day, there has to be dessert.

In the now viral videowhich has been viewed more than 1.7 million times, the Italian goddess was seen indulging in Baba Au Rhum – or Rum Baba.

This dessert originates from France and is a delicious yeast cake covered with syrup, made from spirits, usually rum, and sometimes filled with whipped cream or pastry cream.

The touching clip has taken the internet by storm, with hundreds of people responding en masse.

A kind viewer said: ”Now I know why they say the Mediterranean diet is so healthy! She is glowing!! Her skin.”

Another joined in the conversation: “She is beautiful and radiant, as if she had a fantastic and joyful life.”

“She looks amazing! Goals,” wrote a third.
