We Gave Our Mom Bellies a Spicy Makeover on Vacation, But It Took an Embarrassing Turn
A GROUP of friends have told of the moment their decision to get a piercing abroad took an embarrassing turn.
Ash Reid, Lauren Kerr and Eilidh Wells booked a holiday to Portugal for the summer, without their children and spouses.
During their girls’ trip, the Scottish trio, who play the popular Girls Overheard Podcast – spontaneously decided to get their navel pierced.
They documented the experience in an Instagram video, saying: “POV: You’re on a girls’ trip and you hate your mommy belly, so you decide to spice it up.
“Top tip for anyone with a wrinkled belly button after giving birth: add some decoration.”
But their banter ended when Ash, mother of two, literally took a funny turn and fainted in the piercing studio.
They later joked, “It’s all fun and games until Ash faints three times and needs the entire crash team.”
In the video, Ash can be seen muttering, “I see stars,” just before he passes out.
She then hilariously crosses her arms and stages a resurrection at the end.
The clip has since gone viral and has been viewed more than 125,000 times on Instagram.
One social media user insisted: “I think you started a movement.”
“I really thought it was going to be a tattoo. But I love this,” wrote a second.
Someone else commented enthusiastically: “This is absolutely brilliant!!”
A fourth asked: “Is it even a girls trip if you don’t get a tattoo or piercing?”
A fifth said: “Oh my god this is brilliant! I love you girls.”
Meanwhile, a sixth joined in the conversation: “I love this. I had it done after both my kids to cover the wrinkles and now I love it.”
Ash, Eilidh and Lauren started their popular podcast “for fun” and make fans laugh with real girl talk, shocking confessions and listener dilemmas.
Since then they have performed a series of sold out live shows across Scotland.
