Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 unlikely to launch globally; may feature thin body
Xiaomi’s Mix Fold 4 is said to be in the works as a successor to the Mix Fold 3. While we wait for the official announcement of its launch, a prominent tipster claims that the upcoming foldable phone will be released in global markets. However, another media report has contradicted this rumour. Xiaomi’s previous foldable offerings were only available for purchase in the Chinese market. Apart from the phone’s availability, details regarding its design have also surfaced. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is said to feature an extremely thin profile.
Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch the Mix Fold 4 globally
Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) on X opinion that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will be released in global markets outside of China. It is said to have a 9.xmm thick profile and will make its debut as the narrowest foldable phone. It will likely compete with Honor’s Magic V3, which is set to officially launch on July 12.
A report from GizmoChina, citing internal sources, states that Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will not be launching in the global market. It reportedly has model numbers ‘24072PX77C’ and ‘24076PX3BC’. The former is said to belong to the satellite communication version of the device, while the latter is said to come without satellite communication. The letter C at the end of the model numbers is said to be exclusive to China. The device is said to be codenamed ‘goku’ and has an internal model number of ‘N18’.
Xiaomi’s first clamshell foldable phone — Mix Flip — is rumored to be making its debut in the global market. Unfortunately, the brand hasn’t revealed any details regarding the availability of its upcoming foldable phone. So, it’s safe to take these details with a pinch of salt. The previous three iterations of the Mix Fold were limited to China.
If the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 becomes available globally, it will compete with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6, which launches on July 10.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 specifications (expected)
Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is expected to make its debut later this month. According to previous leaks, it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and will have an IPX8 water-resistance rating. It is said to have a 50-megapixel primary camera on the back, supported by a Leica Summilux lens.
Xiaomi is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery inside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 with support for wireless charging.
