“Then, when necessary, it can take immediate action.

“You may be surprised to learn that you can clean your home to a reasonable standard in just an hour.”

If you’re not convinced yet, Shark has shared a quick cleaning guide for your home.

1. Open windows

Provide fresh air in your home and remove all unpleasant odors.

After all, there is no better air freshener than what Mother Nature has to offer.

2. All hands on the pump

Enlist everyone’s help: many hands make light work!

Give everyone a list of cleaning tasks and call everyone back together five minutes before the deadline to discuss what has been done and what has not yet been done.

3. Start at the front door

Why? Because first impressions count. Tidy up the entire space; even if that means stuffing shoes and bags into closets.

Once the entryway to your home is clean, you can clean everything with a scented household cleaner.

4. Go to the bathroom

When you’re really busy, cleaning is a priority. And there’s no higher priority than the bathroom.

Bathrooms are usually the dirtiest room in the house. But luckily, they are probably the easiest to clean.

Start by cleaning your toilet with a brush and toilet cleaner.

Alternatively, you can use baking soda and a little white vinegar. Wipe down the rim, seat and all exterior surfaces.

Obviously you don’t have time to thoroughly clean your sink, bathtub and shower.

Liberally coat all surfaces with white vinegar or your favorite all-purpose cleaner.

And wipe them down with a clean microfiber cloth. Finally, check and replenish supplies, including toilet paper, soap, and towels.

5. Clean up

Your next priority should be to declutter different areas of your home. The hallway is already done, so now tackle the living room.

Clear out all clutter quickly. Don’t worry about finding permanent places for things — you don’t have time. Put everything in the nearest closet or storage space.

Don’t forget your laundry. Whether it’s dirty, freshly washed or freshly ironed, get it out of sight as soon as possible. This also makes cleaning your home easier and faster.

6. Tackle the kitchen

Wash and put away all dirty dishes. Quickly wipe down surfaces with a disinfectant, such as vinegar, antibacterial solutions, or steam.

White vinegar can cost as little as 79p.

7. Straighten

Fluff pillows, smooth out duvets, straighten kitchen chairs, neatly stack magazines and books, and throw the children’s toys into boxes.

You’ll be amazed at how much you can improve the look of a room in just a minute or two.
