This is the astonishing moment that a brutal shoplifter was caught red -handed during a police ambush, before he was told: “You were fooled.”

Diefing Derick Bell ran in the cooperative in Lower Marsh, Lambeth, Zuid-London, planning to steal as much as possible.

The greedy 36-year-old entered the store at 8.30 am with a gray hoody and a black jacket and began to release the store's meat cooler.

But little knew the criminal that while he stacked the cuts of steak, the police were hiding in the back room, preparing themselves to jump.

Dramatic images, caught on camera worn through the body, conquered the moment that a with-police officer launched the room and accused the unsuspecting thief.

Brave inspector Darren Watson sprints through the aisle and grabs Bell while still trying to squeeze food out of the fridge.

“You're in the knee,” calls Watson, while he dumps the crooked with wide eyes, before he calls “Give me your hands” while he arrests Bell.

The police, who took place on Monday, has now led Bell to be imprisoned for eight weeks.

Inspector Watson, Van Lambeth's Neighborhood Policing Team, said: 'This is an excellent example of how the with a targeted approach uses to tackle the kind of insulting that is most important for Londoners.

'We know that shoplifting has a significant impact on companies and store staff. It often also feeds other crime and antisocial behavior.

“In Lambeth alone, our enforcement activity means that 11 out of 14 most productive shoplifters in the area are currently in prison and we will continue to take action against those who cause misery in our communities.”

The police carried out the intended Angel after various reports of theft from the store.

After assessing recent crime reports, officers arrived early and waited in the back office where they kept an eye on CCTV cameras.

Bell, who was wearing an orange axle, was spotted at 8.30 am when he started stealing meat from the fridge, while another bewildered customer watched in horror.

It was the second time that Bell had tried to steal from the store.

He was caught on CCTV only a few days earlier, on January 19, with the same clothes as he plundered the meat cooler.

Bell, from no fixed address, was immediately held and arrested.

On Tuesday he appeared at the Hof van Croydon Magistrates, where he pleaded guilty of two counts of shoplifting and was imprisoned.

His successful conviction comes if the police keep trying to clamp on brutal thieves who terrorize and steal stores in the capital.

Crooks are often filmed by staff or shoppers while they stack nonchalant meat or expensive bottles of wine in backpacks before they are going past guards.

One clip, filmed in the London M&S branch in Chanery Lane, conquered a thief with a blank face while slowly grabbed jam and chutneys from the plank, while a guard begged to stop.

In other cases, the thieves seem to enjoy their moment of fame, with video from a Tesco in West Drayton who laughed three shoplifters while they are loading the store with bottles of spirits – while guards look helpless.

When they intervene, guards are often pelted with abuse – as happened in another Tesco at a short distance in West Drayton, where a man bonded the staff with chocolate bars and shouted: “get your f *** ing me from me” for terrified children.

In an even more shocking business, a serial thief rode 220 meters with a farm shop employee on his hood after he tried to prevent him from having flee the Mainsgill farm in Noord -Yorkshire by standing in front of his car.

So flagrant are the crooks, many don't even bother to hide their identity – with some now called “kamikaze thieves.”

These disturbing videos, all filmed in recent months, offer a minor insight into a crime that has reached crisis levels in the United Kingdom – with new data showing that the number of offshore crimes has risen by 23 percent to more than 490,000 a year.

A total of 492,914 offenses were registered by the police in the year until September, the Office of National Statistics (us) revealed the highest figure since the current police registration practices started for the year ending on March 2003.

It follows warnings that shoplifting 'gets out of hand' after a study by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) suggested that there were more than 2,000 incidents per day, where staff were confronted with attack, threatened with weapons and abuse.

There were more than 55,000 incidents of theft per day, equal to more than 20 million in total.

The alarming figures show that the problem is getting worse, with cases of attacks and shoplifting of last year's record to be a fresh high since the surveys started in 2001.

This is despite the fact that companies pay a record of £ 1.8 billion on prevention tactics such as CCTV, more guards and cameras worn through the body.

About 61 percent of retailers say that the police response to calls for help 'poor' or 'very poor' has been.

Retailers report unprecedented levels of violence against their staff, with the number of incidents with a weapon that more than doubles to 70 a day.
