Peter Dutton's new shadow minister inspired by Elon Musk for government efficiency has sworn to revise federal financing on native welcoming at the country's ceremonies if the coalition is chosen.
Shadow Minister of Native Australians Jacinta Nampijinpa Price was the newly created role of shadow minister for government efficiency by opposition leader Peter Dutton last Saturday.
The move was generally seen as inspired by US President Donald Trump, who appointed the richest man Elon Musk in the world as head of a new 'Department of Government Efficiency'.
The X owner is responsible for cropping bureaucracy and providing better value for American taxpayers by, among other things, taking jobs with regard to diversity, fairness, inclusion and accessibility.
It is a role that Senator Price has embraced with similar verve, because she outlines her plans to lower the Canberra desk) if the coalition wins the government.
“Australians want to reduce the waste, they want to ensure that the results come to life with the way in which taxpayer dollars are spent by their government,” Senator Price told the ABC.
First in her sights is the money spent on indigenous affairs, in particular federal financing for welcome at ceremonies.
“I would like to look at an audit of the billions of dollars issued in the indigenous room, so that we can understand where that can be spent better,” she added.

“I don't believe we have to spend $ 450,000 a period of welcome to country, while that doesn't really improve the lives of a marginalized, indigenous Australian.”
“That kind of financing could be diverted to actually improve the lives of marginalized indigenous Australians, contrary to what is used for what is effectively a hospitable ceremony, many of which have now become quite politicized.”
Senator Price tried to claim Musk's red tape-slashing appointment 'was no inspiration' for her new portfolio, but few are convinced.
When asked about the plans of Senator Price to revise welcome in the financing of the country, Prime Minister Anthony Albanian remained a message about the costs of living.
“What Australians are worried about when I travel throughout the country is not looking for cultural wars and wants to share,” he said.
Native Australians Minister Malarndirri McCarthy said that the decision was disappointing and demonstrated that the coalition was aimed at 'cultural wars'.
“It is actually very disappointing, we know that the opposition leader has risen the apology, he will not be in front of the indigenous flag and now he does not want the elderly to do welcome in the country,” she said.
“We really have to ask the question, where is the indigenous plan for the future with the coalition and with Senator Price?”

The coalition also started using the slogan “Are you better off than three years ago?”, By replicating the rhetoric that Mr Trump used in his successful presidential campaign.
Opposition leader Mr Dutton got another magazine from Trump's playbook and used a big speech on Friday to criticize the jobs of cultural diversity in the public sector and promised to defeat the number of civil servants if they are chosen.
“I haven't met an Australian throughout the country – I was in Alice Springs in recent days – who can tell me that their lives is better off because the government employs 36,000 officials in Canberra,” he said.
“I met people … who say that their lives are worse off because of the extra bureaucracy associated with employment of 36,000 more civil servants.”
He focused specifically on 'Cultural Diversity and Inclusion Adviser Positions'.
“Such positions … do nothing to improve the life of everyday Australians,” he said.
“They are certainly not … Front line service roles that can make a difference for people's lives.”
More money would be spent on front lines that make the difference, including doctors, national security and information, Mr Dutton said.
But the national secretary of the community and the public trade union Melissa Donnelly said that staff with a lived experience – such as people with disabilities or indigenous people – meant that the government could better reflect the community and provide essential services more effectively.
“Inclusion and diversity may sound like an easy target for Mr Dutton and Mr Trump, but for people who have access to public services, the value of having someone who speaks their language and understands that their experience is immeasurable,” ” She said.
Finance Minister Katy Gallagher has criticized the promise of the coalition to be ax, and claims that it would have tangible consequences, including waiting times for things such as the pensions of veterans.
On top of thousands of people who lose their jobs, Senator Gallagher wondered where the cutbacks would come from, stating the work -related means to process visa disadvantages, claims for social payments and border enforcement.
