Earlier this summer, in August, the 30-year-old posted a clip of herself crying and hugging her son, captioning it: “When you feel guilty as a mom because you go to Disneyland without the kids.”

The images then we see a clip of the young parent dancing and sipping a refreshing cocktail, while posing with the iconic Minnie Mouse ears.

“But then you remember why you booked a trip without kids,” Madalyn chuckled.

Although the Disney superfan had a great time at the Magic Kingdom theme park, the post received mixed reactions online, with critics questioning the mother’s decision to abandon her children.

“Who leave their children at home to hang out with thousands of other children,” one person wrote.

“Just let the kids go to a family destination, surrounded by other kids, uh, weird,” thought another.

“Disney adults really are the poorest,” said a third.

But not everyone was happy with Madalyn choosing to take some time away from her family. Others responded en masse to the haters.

“Come on girl. I hope you had fun,” said one supporter, who thought the mother could do whatever she wanted.

A second said: “I’m a firm believer in making beautiful memories with your children, but you should also take a holiday without them.”

”They will grow up one day and have their own vacations.

“And traveling with children is expensive and emotionally and physically taxing, so it never feels like a vacation.”

The mother, who calls herself a “Disney specialist,” justified the solo trip by saying her children have been to the tourist attraction several times before and claimed her vacation was a work trip.

Madalyn, who has over 4,000 followers on her pageshut down critics by saying the roller coasters she had ridden were too big for her children and bragged about drinking far more than she would have if her children had been there.

Things to do in Walt Disney World for adults

There are countless things to enjoy as an adult at Disney World.

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Kilimanjaro Safaris is a highlight of this park and a good option for adults who want to experience an African safari,
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a popular area in this park, featuring two Star Wars-themed attractions
  • Epcot: This park is known for its educational attractions, including Spaceship Earth, a slow-moving attraction that explores the history of communication,
  • Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are some of the best adult attractions in this park.

”I work as a travel agent for Disney, so while I had fun and played, this was also a business trip.

”Not to mention it’s August, it’s hot. Not a time of year I would normally recommend for little ones.

“I did all of this to better serve my clients and their families during their holidays,” the mother said in another video.

”I love going on family vacations to Disney and I do that 99% of the time! BUT every once in a while it’s SO FUN to let loose and be a kid without the kids!”
