Pete Hegseeth has kicked Liberal Legacy -Media from the Pentagon press offices to make way for conservative organizations during his first week as Minister of Defense.
The New York Times, NBC News, NPR and Politico have given their marsorders to evacuate their office spaces in the Pentagon through Valentine's Day, read a memo.
In their place, three conservative points of sale – the New York Post, One America News Network (OAN) and Breitbart News Network – and one progressive outlet, Huffpost, will be withdrawn for a year.
Huffpost, who does not have a Pentagon correspondent, did not ask for space in the Pentagon, spokesperson Lizzie Gram told NBC News, but Gram remains enthusiastic.
“If the Trump government and secretary Hegseeth are interested in more hard coverage of their stewardship of the Ministry of Defense of Huffpost, we are ready to deliver,” said Grams.
New York Post will occupy the space of Times, while Oan will take the NBC office, Brietbart will occupy the home of NPR and Huffpost will go to the field of polico.
The Hegseth office has implemented a rotating schedule for points of sale to use the office space, which lasted every rotation of one year. The unprecedented step was announced on Friday.
Every annual rotation will see one outlet of print, online, television and radio filtered to allow a new outlet of the same medium that has not had the unique opportunity to report as a resident of the Pentagon Press Corps, '' said the memo.

More than two dozen news organizations operate from the Pentagon, including Reuters, who report on the daily activities of the US Army.
NBC News said it was “disappointed by the decision to refuse our access to a temporary employment cabin in the Pentagon that we have been using for decades.”
“Despite the important obstacles that this presents for our ability to collect and report news in the national public interest, we will continue to report with the same integrity and NBC News will always rigourn,” said it in a statement.
The NBC office contains equipment installed by the news organization, including telephone lines and cameras. The outlet does not know whether it will be able to broadcast from the Pentagon as soon as it removes its equipment.
The other points of sale have not publicly commented on their removal.
Dailymail.com has contacted NBC, NYT, NPR and Polito for comment.
Spokesperson for Pentagon John Ullyot said that the new order is to broaden the limited space of the corridor of correspondents to points of sale that have not previously enjoyed the privileges and journalist value of working from physical office space in the Pentagon ' .
“For more than half a century, the Pentagon Press Corps has benefited from works from individual office spaces that offer coveted and open access to some of the best military and civilian leaders of the department,” said the memo, sent to the Pentagon Press Association.

Oan told NBC News that it is looking forward to having access to physical office space in the Pentagon and will use the accommodations full -time as soon as possible '.
OAN has been operating an agency in Washington since 2013.
Despite the excitement of Oan to finally gain access to office space, the Pentagon Press Association has published a criticism.
“Our Resident Perskorps has been greatly expanded over the years and we have always welcomed new members and will continue to do so,” said a statement.
'However, we are very disturbed by this unprecedented step of DOD to sail very professional media that the Pentagon have already covered for decades, both under Republican and Democratic administrations.
“We asked for a meeting and we will keep everyone informed.”
This is after the new press secretary Karoline Leavitt, 27, has announced that the White House will welcome independent journalists, podcasters and influencers of social media in the press room.
Leavitt also announced that the Trump 2.0 administration would restore the press passes of 440 whose fits fit by the BIDEN administration 'were wrongly withdrawn'.

She also announced that two seats would usually be reserved for the White House staff 'new media' chairs – and those people could ask the first questions.
Traditionally, the Wire Service, The Associated Press, gets the first question – while the Association of De Witte Huis correspondents dictates which points of sale get which seats in the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
“From today, this chair at the front of the room, which is usually occupied by the staff of the press secretary, will be called the chair 'new media',” she said. “My team will assess the applications and give references to new media applicants who meet our criteria and meet the American secret service requirements to enter the White House complex.”
On Tuesday, Mike Allen from Axios received the first question followed by Matthew Boyle, the old political correspondent for Breitbart, the right-wing outlet that was previously led by Trump strategist Steve Bannon.
Donald Trump – who also attacked the media in his first term – will also continue to call on reporters whom he claims is 'wrong' in their reports.
“We know for sure that there have been lies who have been pushed in the country by many Legacy Media about this president, about his family and we will not accept that,” she said.
“We will call you if we feel that your report is wrong or there is wrong information about this white house.”
