Man and woman are arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after ‘hit and run’ that killed a young boy and girl

A man and a woman were arrested after two children were killed after a crash in Basildon, said the Essex police.

Temporary assistant -head commissioner Stuart Hooper said: 'My thoughts are with the friends and family of the girl and the boy who died tonight.

'Specialist officers support them on this really unimaginably difficult time.

“Our officers will perform questions tonight in the area to determine the circumstances that led to the collision, so if you saw something or have information, please contact contact.”
