Samsung brings new Galaxy AI features to Galaxy S24 series and older models
Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 6.1. 1 update for the Galaxy S24 series and earlier models. The update brings several Galaxy AI features like Interpreter and Chat Assist, which the South Korean tech conglomerate introduced in July with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. It is rolling out first to users in South Korea, with other regions to receive One UI 6.1. 1 in the coming weeks.
Samsung One UI 6.1.1 Update
In a newsroom afterSamsung announced that one of the features arriving on the Galaxy S24 and earlier models is Sketch to Image. Essentially, an artificial intelligence (AI) sketching assistant can generate images based on the drawings or scribbles a user makes via the S Pen, in Notes or photos in the Gallery app. It also brings Note Assist, which enables actions like recording audio, transcribing it and summarizing it.
The devices also get the Portrait Studio feature, which reshapes portrait photos in styles like 3D cartoon or watercolor. Using Composer, users can now compose emails and social media posts using Chat Assist. Select Samsung Galaxy Watch users can now take advantage of suggested replies on the Samsung Galaxy S24 and other devices. As the name suggests, the feature allows them to compose tailored yet quick replies to messages received from their smartwatches.
Other features rolling out with the One UI 6.1. 1 update include PDF Overlay Translation, Sound Search, and Instant Slo-mo.
One UI 6.1.1 Update Eligible Devices
According to Samsung, the One UI 6.1. 1 update is rolling out for the following smartphones and tablets:
- Galaxy S24 series
- Galaxy S23 series
- Galaxy S23 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold 5
- Galaxy Z Flip 5
- Galaxy Tab S9 Series
The company says the update will arrive as One UI 6.1 on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S23 FE, while it will arrive as One UI 6.1.1 on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.
