Here’s why Trump’s own ambassador to Iceland is still ‘110% MAGA’ and brushing off his snub by last-minute endorsement of political opponent Sam Brown in Nevada

Voters inside Nevada will go to the polls on Tuesday to cast their votes in a series of primaries, including the one for the Republican in Nevada Senate primary. Whoever wins the race will face vulnerable Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen in November.

Republican Sam Brown has taken the lead in the polls, but his opponent Jeff Gunter has declared his candidacy as a ‘110 percent pro-Trump’ candidate.

Gunter served in the Trump administration as a former president ambassador to Iceland from July 2019 until the end of Trump’s four years in the US White House. But his record is obstructed his political campaign.

Late Sunday, Trump came out and endorsed his Republican opponent Sam Brown, just days before the election.

“You know the swamp is deep and even President Trump needs help from all of us on the America first policy and from those of us who love America,” Gunter told DailyMail.com after winning Tuesday’s primaries in Las Vegas had voted.

“I’m still 110% pro-Trump,” Gunter said.

Both Gunter and Brown showed up Trump’s rally in Vegas on Sunday. Trump mentioned Brown briefly during his speech, but only endorsed him from the stage.

But in a Truth Social post on Sunday night, after thousands voted early in the primaries, Trump made his endorsement.

Trump called Brown a “FEARLESS AMERICAN PATRIOT” and noted that he is the recipient of a Purple Heart.

Brown was badly burned after his vehicle ran over a roadside bomb while serving in Afghanistan in 2008.

Trump said Brown will fight “tirelessly” for priorities like border security and the economy.

Brown was leading in the primaries ahead of the endorsement, but this is expected to give him a final boost on Tuesday.

Gunter told DailyMail.com that he understands the pressure Trump is under.

“I think the most important thing is that we all stand up and fight and don’t back down,” Gunter said.

Gunter condemned even more establishment Republicans in Washington. He argued that “DC elites are really panicking about what’s going on now.”

Pointing out that the balance of power in the Senate is at stake in November, he argued that America First supporters are excited and coming out.

“The most important thing has to do with President Trump, with the individuals who are behind him, who are supporters, whether you want to have another Mitch McConnell Republican,” Gunter said.

When asked who he would support as Republican Senate leader if elected, Gunter kept his cards close to his chest.
