A mother in financial trouble begs strangers online to pay her rent.

Nina Elizabeth posted a message on social media expressing her fear that if she couldn’t pay her rent this month, she and her children would be left homeless.

The mother said, “There is a good chance that my children and I will be homeless within a week.

“This is my last resort, so please watch this video.”

Nina explained that she had been living in the house for over a year, but was now a single parent after her ex left her and their newborn baby.

The mother had not received any money for several weeks and had to pay bills and rent, which rightly caused her a lot of stress.

The distraught mother continued: “I’ve never been evicted, I’ve never had a loan and I’ve never been in a situation where this happened.

“I always try to find a way to make it.”

“Please guys, I know it’s a big ask. I have no other choice,” Nina begged.

“Maybe I’ll do a few more videos and then I’ll be live to try and make the amount of money I need. I know with your help we can get through this. So please, for them. Help me.”

This time, she asked people to donate through her GoFundMe page, send money to her CashApp, or comment on the video to earn money through TikTok.

TikTok executives said: “The money each creator can earn is determined by a combination of factors, including the number of views and authenticity of those views, the level of engagement with the content, and whether the content meets our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.

No two creators or videos are the same and there is no limit to the different types of content we support with the fund.

“The total amount of the Creator Fund varies daily and is based on the number of videos published by our community that day. So it can vary based on the amount of content being published.”

But it’s not the first time the mother has received help from strangers online.

She said a previous partner took her furniture and TikTok viewers helped her rebuild her home.

Emergency Council Accommodation

In England, emergency council support is provided to individuals or families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The process usually involves several steps and the details can vary between local councils. However, the general process is as follows:

  1. If you are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, you should contact your local council’s housing department as soon as possible. Most councils have dedicated housing options or homelessness prevention teams. The council will carry out an initial assessment to determine your situation. This will usually involve an interview where you will be asked to provide information about your circumstances, including why you are homeless, your housing history and any specific needs you may have.
  2. The council will check whether you are eligible for assistance. This includes verifying your immigration status and whether you have a local connection to the area, for example by living, working or having family in the area.
  3. The council will determine whether you have a ‘priority need’ for housing. Priority need categories typically include:, Families with dependent children., Pregnant women., People who are vulnerable due to age, physical or mental health conditions or other special reasons., People made homeless by emergency situations such as fire or flood.
  4. If you are deemed to have a priority need, the council must provide you with temporary accommodation while they investigate your case further. This is often referred to as temporary or emergency accommodation. This could be in a hostel, bed and breakfast or other types of temporary accommodation.

The clip she posted on her TikTok account @ninaelizabethhh went viral with over 1 million views and over 226,000 likes.

People were quick to respond to the video to increase the mother’s involvement and get her to donate money to the creators fund.

Someone wrote: “I can only help by posting a comment.”

Another commented: “You are a good mother. Keep your head up.”

“Oh dear. A handsome man sent almost the entire amount,” wrote a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “Watched it all the way through and pressed the buttons. Hope it helps you.”

“Comments to help,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Keep going! You can do this!”
