The Weeknd Films New Music Video With New iPhone 16 Pro
Most of us might only use our iPhones to take cute cat videos or film a child’s dance routine, but they can do so much more, and Apple wants us to know. Grammy Award-winning musician The Weeknd used the new iPhone 16 Pro to shoot a new music video for his song “Dancing In The Flames,” Apple announced during a live event on Monday. The video features a cool effect generated by the phone’s slo-mo 4K resolution setting at 120 frames per second.

“Shooting (in 4K resolution at 120 frames per second) really helped us slow down reality,” Eric Hendrickson, the video’s cinematographer, said in a video shared at the Apple event. “(It helped) slow down the elements, slow down the movement of The Weeknd. You didn’t have to think, ‘Oh, it’s just an iPhone.’ We just pushed it as far as we normally do, and got some really epic shots.”
The Weeknd Dancing In The Flames premiere in a one-off concert streamed live from São Paulo, Brazil on September 7. Billboard wrote in a review that the new song “has the hallmarks of a hit from the first moment you hear it” and that the singer’s voice “soars over an indelible synth line, singing of an odyssey where ‘We’re dancing in the flames/ It’s indescribable.'”
This isn’t the first time The Weeknd has been involved with Apple products. In July, Apple announced that an immersive performance from the musician would be would come for the Apple Vision Pro headset.
The new Apple phones can be pre-ordered from September 13 and will be available in stores from September 20.
