I Transformed My Damaged Hair Into Long, Healthy Locks – Avoid a Common Mistake
A woman showed off her impressive hair transformation after growing out her locks.
With a few simple changes, she transformed her short, damaged hair into long, healthy locks.
In her viral videoTikTok user Taryn (@therealtarnanlamb) told her followers all about her tips.
“Look how fried, broken and dead it was,” she said, discussing a photo of her hair she had taken earlier.
Her bleached blonde hair reached just above her shoulders and looked broken and frayed.
In the after photo, Taryn’s natural sandy blonde shade is clearly visible in her long, wavy locks.
She said she never thought her hair could be brought back to life, but that a few simple changes quickly had an effect.
These steps involved her stopping bleaching and embracing her natural color.
Taryn also used heat on her hair less often, washing it only once a week.
She also opted for silk scrunchies instead of regular hair ties and invested in silk pillowcases.
The TikTokker said she swore by Olaplex products and regularly applied a hair mask to her locks.
Taryn also braided her hair before going to sleep to keep it from fraying.
Her final tip was to throw in the towel when you dry your hair.
“I always dry my hair with a T-shirt instead of a towel because towels damage your hair,” she explains.
Her followers shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments.
“Literal [the] exactly the same as me! I think sometimes people think there is a ‘quick’ fix for her but it really depends, mine took three years,” wrote one viewer.
“Wow! Your hair has grown so much and looks so much healthier,” said another TikTok user.
