A spokesperson for the farm where circus performance was held later clarified that the lion only tore the clothing of the handler without causing real injury.
“De Leeuw has no big teeth, so it was not dangerous,” the spokesperson explained. “The handler was not injured – just a torn shirt.”
This is only two months after a lion fiercely attacked a man outside his cage in Lahore, Pakistan, while the man tried to pose for a photo with the wild animal.
Images of the attack show the screaming man while the lion held down on his hip.
Two other men tried to pry the man's lion while sank his claws in his skin, causing the defenseless man to walk around on the floor.
