Beautiful flowering trees can lower your home value – they ‘smell like vomit’
WHEN it comes to landscaping, it seems like one species of tree could make a beautiful addition to any yard.
But despite the beautiful blooming flowers, it can make you feel sick.

Not only does it produce bitter fruits that are inedible, it also smells rotten.

“Some counties offer homeowners a reward if they remove their Bradford pear trees,” she said Oak back.

The trees are also invasive and can damage nearby plants, disrupting the ecosystem.
BOOM IS A CROWD
Not only are Bradford pear trees invasive, they have caused so much damage that they have been banned in three states.
In Ohio, Pennsylvania and South Carolina, the sale or planting of Bradford pear trees is prohibited.
Many other states are considering following suit.
They may increase the tree’s appeal, but the tree’s appearance is not worth it.
Planting one on your property could decrease the value of your home.
People who already have Bradford pear trees in their lawn are advised to remove them, despite the trees’ already short lifespan.
PUBLIC OPINION
More and more people are becoming aware of the smelly, yet beautiful tree and are becoming aware of the damage it can cause to the community.
Reddit user Specialist_heron_986 shared his experiences on the social media platform.
“Bradford pears stink,” he said.
He called “whoever is responsible for bringing these stinking, brittle and invasive Bradford pear trees to Ohio lawns” to account.
Specialist_heron_986 added that they look beautiful for a short period of the year and the smell is unbearable.
“The air in the direction of the flowering pear trees can best be described as ‘indecent,’” he said.
Experts agree that Bradford pear trees should not be planted.
They were described as ‘vomit’-like by GardeningKnowHow.
According to the Missouri Department of Conservationthey only bloom in early spring.
