Congress releases fourth list of five candidates for J&K elections – Times of India
NEW DELHI: The Congress on Wednesday released its fourth list of five candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir state assembly elections with JKPCC as its working chairman Tara Chand of Chhamb. With this list, the Congress has fielded a total of 39 candidates for the state assembly elections.
The National Conference and Congress have decided on a formula for the distribution of seats and are competing for 51 and 32 seats respectively. There will be a friendly competition for a few seats.
Besides Chand, the party had Mir Iqbal from Baramulla, Nizamuddin Bhat from Bandipora, Bushan Dogra from Quest (SC), and Ashok Bhagat of Akhnoor (SC).
The Congress on Monday released its second list of six candidates for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections, with JKPCC leader Tariq Hameed Karra from Central Shalteng.
Previously, the party had named nine candidates.
On Monday, the Congress released the third list for the elections in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases: on September 18, September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will take place on October 8.
