WE’VE ALL DONE IT.

I was sunbathing on the beach and accidentally fell asleep.

But when Anna Scott woke up next, she was stunned by her surroundings.

She took over TikTok to capture the hilarious situation, as she showed herself lying on a lounge chair on the beach, just woken up from her nap.

“I fell asleep on the beach and while I was sleeping, someone was preparing a wedding,” she laughed.

“I wake up and the bride is about to walk down the aisle.”

She then turned the camera to give a “little sneak peek” of the bride walking across the sand to the altar, as her guests stood on either side watching her.

“How could I have missed this?” Anna asked in surprise.

Then she appeared in a little pink two-piece dress and sighed, “I feel so bad.

“I’m standing in my bikini right next to them!

“I don’t know what to do.”

“I went to sleep on the beach and woke up at a wedding,” Anna captioned the video.

I saved £10,000 on my wedding with my clever tips – I bought my bouquets from Aldi and used flea market items for decorations

People responded en masse to the video. One person wrote: “I would have been so confused, like I was in a strange universe!”

“It would be a nightmare if I woke up at 1am and thought it was Monday but it was actually Thursday,” laughed another.

Anna replied, “I could have missed the entire wedding and only woken up after they had packed everything up.”

“I’m telling you, those beach naps ARE the best ever,” said a third.

“Open your mouth and you’ll be knocked out!”

“This is 100% something I would do too,” wrote someone else.

Budget-friendly wedding tips

PLANNING a wedding on a budget doesn’t mean you have to give up on your dream day. Here are a few tips to keep costs down and still create a memorable celebration:

Set a budget and stick to it

  • Determine your total budget early and distribute the funds across the different aspects of the wedding.
  • Keep track of all your expenses to avoid overspending.

Limit the guest list

  • Keep your guest list private to reduce catering, venue, and other per-person expenses.

Choose an affordable location

  • Consider non-traditional locations such as parks, community centers, or a family member’s backyard.
  • Look for locations that allow you to bring your own suppliers.

DIY decorations

  • Create your own centerpieces, bouquets and other decorative items.
  • Use seasonal flowers and simple, elegant designs.

Choose a weekday or off-season wedding

  • Venues and vendors often offer discounts for weekday or off-season weddings.

Simplify the menu

  • Opt for a buffet or family-style meal instead of dinner.
  • Limit the number of courses and opt for affordable, yet delicious options.

Borrow or rent clothes

  • Borrow wedding dresses from friends or family, or rent dresses and suits.
  • Look for sales or buy second-hand wedding dresses.

Digital invitations

  • Send digital invitations instead of printed copies to save on printing and postage costs.

Hire a DJ or make a playlist

  • Hire a DJ instead of a live band, or create your own playlist for the reception.

Make the cake easier

  • Choose a small, simple cake for the ceremonial cutting and serve your guests a sheet cake.

By following these tips, you can create a beautiful and memorable wedding without breaking the bank. Remember, the focus should be on celebrating your love and commitment, not on how much you spend.

“But then I would snore and wake up feeling ashamed.”

Others claimed that Anna had nothing to be ashamed of for wearing a bikini just before the wedding.

“Don’t feel bad, it’s a beach for a reason,” one person wrote.

“They could have chosen a spot further away from the people on the beach.”

“You don’t have to feel bad about walking around in a bikini. At my best friend’s wedding abroad, a woman was sunbathing topless while she was awake, next to the wedding party…” added another.

“One of the reasons I didn’t want a beach wedding was because I didn’t want any spectators… not that you’re doing anything wrong,” wrote a third.

Anna replied, “I know, it feels so wrong!!”

“I really don’t understand why people do this on public beaches,” sighed someone else.

“When I was on my honeymoon, I don’t know how many weddings I saw… it was like a conveyor belt.”
