Realme C61 with IP54 rating to be launched in India this week

Realme C61 will be launched in India this week, the company officially confirmed on Monday. The development comes a day after alleged renders, expected specifications and the price of the smartphone surfaced online. The Realme C61 has since been listed on the brand’s official website and has also received a microsite on Flipkart, mentioning some of the features of the upcoming smartphone such as its water resistance, durability and design.

According to the official Realme websiteThe Realme C61 will be launched in India on June 28 at 12:00 PM IST. It is speculated to offer TUV Rheinland certification and an integrated metal frame. Realme says its upcoming smartphone is “tough as steel”.

The company also confirmed that the Realme C61 will have an IP54 rating against dust and water ingress. It will also have a “strengthened glass”. While no details on its pricing have been revealed, it is likely to be an offering in the budget smartphone segment.

Realme C61 could feature an HD+ display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 320 DPI. According to a recent leak, the phone has reportedly been spotted on Google Play Console with model number RMX3939. Under the hood, the smartphone could be powered by Unisoc Speedtrum T612 4G chipset which suggests it would come with 4G capabilities.

In terms of optics, the Realme C61 is expected to feature a 50-megapixel dual camera system, the report suggests. The latest teaser shared by the company confirms the presence of dual cameras on the rear of the smartphone along with an LED flash. However, the design seems to be slightly different from the renders that have surfaced online. The Unisoc chip could be coupled with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. It is further speculated to run Android 14 out of the box.

The report suggests that the Realme C61 could be priced at EUR 130 (approximately Rs. 11,600) in the global market. In India, it could retail for under Rs. 10,000. It could come in multiple color options depending on the region where it is sold. In the global market, the Realme C61 could come in Dark Black and Dark Green color options while the Indian variant could come in Marble Black and Safari Green.
