The driver, the 64-year-old Latvian National Maris Fridvalds, was sentenced in March 2023 to 14 years in prison for his role as a courier in the attempt at import.

The National Crime Agency (NCA) launched a manhunt for Burton, which had moved from the UK to live between the Netherlands and Spain in early 2021.

He was arrested in Ibiza's Pacha Nightclub in August 2023 for non -related drug trafficking during the use of an alias.

After he was extradited to Germany and accused of drug -related crimes, Burton was returned to the VK in March 2024 by the Joint International Crime Center (JICC) of the NCA.

Burton then argued guilty of four charges for importing class A and B medicines.

Sian Banks, also from Liverpool, was arrested in December 2023 and later argued guilty of seven charges, including the import of class A Medicines and money laundering.

Research showed that Banks made monthly trips to the Netherlands and Spain between June 2022 and October 2023 to visit Burton.

An overview of her phone also showed that in August 2022 in August 2022 she had smuggled in the UK in the UK in the UK in her luggage in her luggage in her luggage.

One message sent after the first truck was intercepted, Banks saw the informing that her fingerprints were on the ketamine bags. Burton's answer: “You have never been kinked or had you taken prints, so it doesn't matter.”

Banks was also involved in a scam that sells counterfeit Covid-19 travel documents during the pandemic.

Both Burton and Banks will be convicted of Canterbury Crown Court on 12 February.

NCA Branch Commander John Turner noted: 'Burton, with the help of Banks, tried to smuggle large quantities of harmful drugs to the UK, in the conviction that he could operate abroad with impunity.

'Banks found a crucial role in the criminal company, the money laundering of illegal profit and acting as the facilitator established in the VK for the import of several millions of drugs.

“If they had reached their final destination, the drugs would have had a destructive impact on our communities, have fed violence and exploit vulnerable people in the supply chain.”
