Truck knocks over car on Bhakrapet ghat road, three dead, two injured – Times of India

TIRUPATI: Three persons were crushed to death and two others injured after a truck rammed into a car at high speed on the Bhakrapet ghat road Thursday near Tirupati.
A heavy truck laden with tomato stalks was on his way from Kalakada to Chennai when the gory road accident took place on Bhakrapet Ghat road.
According to Chandragiri PoliceThe driver of the heavy vehicle lost control of the vehicle on a hairpin bend on Ghat Road, after which the truck collided with a car, killing three prisoners in the car.
The deceased were identified as Ramesh Murthy (34), Muni Venkat Reddy (55) and Manjunatha (38), all residents of Chikballapur in Karnataka.
Two others, who were seriously injured and trapped helplessly under the truck, called for rescue.
Tirupati SP L Subba Rayudu, Chandragiri and Bhakrapet police rushed to the spot and took steps to rescue the injured.
Tirupati SP later told reporters that the Bhakrapet Ghat stretch is a frequent site for road accidents and the district police in coordination with the state highway authorities should take long-term measures to prevent recurrence of accidents on this stretch.
