Several schools in Essex were locked with children who were unable to leave the building after an e -mail was sent 'what a threat implied'.
Young people in Clacton and Noord -Esex were held in their classrooms after the malignant message, which was sent to at least four primary schools and secondary schools on Tuesday morning.
The measures were finally lifted this afternoon, because the police confirmed that there was “minimal credibility behind these threats.”
The police are now investigating who was behind the communication, which was worried about parents in the area.
Oakwood -Babies, Clacton Coastal Academy and St Martin Fobisher Academy were among the targeted locations.
On White Hall Academy, in Melbourne Road, who also received the e -mail, a photo was spread on social media that showed a man who was seen on the roof around the time of De Alert.
Headteacher Ellie Eames, however, explained that this was not connected to the threat – and in fact was an employee who carried out a site inspection.
In a message to parents, who is shared online, she wrote: 'I can confirm that the school started a partial lockdown this morning. This was while we were looking for reassurance from the Essex police.
