The first wife Lucy Aston by Martin Clunes has revealed what she claims is the harsh comment who fueled the end of their marriage.
The former couple married in 1990, but only three years later things came down to a fight in a Chinese restaurant.
Lucy told how cracks began to appear in romance when Martin's acting career started while she continued to work in a food shop.
They had a heated row after Lucy discovered that her husband 'forgot' to invite her for a party.
She claimed that he called her 'boring and boring' for changing their evening out for studying to become a crisis adviser.
Speaking to the mirror, Lucy said that the last drop came, during their argument in the restaurant, the Doc Martin star reportedly said, “You're a shame.”

She added: 'He told me that I was boring and different and I just thought:' No more. “I got up and said:” Thanks for dinner – this is the end “and stormed out. I was shaking in the car with anger.
'Later I went back and Martin sat there, surrounded by take -away racks filled with our meal. He just looked at me. I took off my golden wedding ring, hit him on the table and walked outside.
“We both knew it was over. I was furious when I found out that he had gone to a party without telling me. '
Lucy explained that he had told her that he just went out with a few actor friends.
They divorced in 1997 and Clunes married Philippa Braithwaite later that year. They have been together since then.
MailOnline has contacted a representative of Martin Clunes for comment.
Although the men who behave poorly, has since said that he and Lucy are now 'friends', he previously described their marriage as 'rot.'
In the Daily Mail in 2008 he said: 'I don't know if I was looking for something. Maybe I was. I found it a bit without looking.

Martin and Phillippa are parents of daughter Emily who was born in 1999 and now works as a manager for Cheddington Equestrian Therapy and Rehabilitation Center.
Martin's most recent acting role is in the drama that is there, which is currently displayed on ITV.
He will then appear in Neil & Martin's Bon Voyage, a travel report mini series with his former men who behave heavily co-star Neil Morrissey.
