Shah opens key police meeting to discuss national security challenges | India News – Times of India
NEW DELHI: Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah opened the two-day Conference on National Security Strategies on Friday, where police chiefs, domain experts and young police officers working at the cutting edge of technology will discuss the key challenges for national security and explore their solutions.
Shah also launched the DGPs/IGPs Conference recommendations dashboard developed by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), as part of the implementation of the decisions taken at the annual DGPs/IGPs conference chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
More than 750 officers from across the country are attending the National Security Strategies Conference, which is being held in a hybrid format.
Home Ministers Nityanand Rai and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Home Minister Govind Mohan, Additional and Deputy National Security Advisers and heads of CAPFs and CPOs are attending the conference in Delhi.
Before inaugurating the conference on security strategies, Shah laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Column and paid tribute to the police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
The idea of National Security Strategies Conference was conceived by the Prime Minister during the DGPs/IGPs conference with an aim to find solutions to major national security challenges through discussions among a unique mix of senior police leadership managing national security challenges, young officers working at the intersection of technology and disciplines.
