Flight from Mumbai to Doha cancelled after multi-hour delay; Indigo arranges hotels, refreshments for angry passengers | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: IndiGo flight 6E 1303 of Mumbai to Doha was canceled after significant delays due to a technical issue. Indigo spokesperson said that “despite multiple attempts to depart, procedural delays led to the cancellation.”
The flight was scheduled to depart from Terminal 2 of Mumbai Airport at 03:55 and arrive in Doha at 05:00. The flight was eventually cancelled.
“Passengers affected by the cancellation were provided refreshments and assistance at the airport. IndiGo is providing hotel accommodation and rebooking passengers to their final destinations. The airline has apologised for the inconvenience caused,” a spokesperson added.
Earlier on September 7, IndiGo had apologized after passengers on board its Delhi-Varanasi flight faced issues after the aircraft’s air conditioning system malfunctioned, leading to chaotic conditions inside the aircraft. Commenting on the entire issue, sources within IndiGo said that the air conditioning was functioning properly, but a shift in temperature caused the cabin to heat up, leading to panic among passengers.

“We apologise for the inconvenience you experienced during flight 6E 2235 from Delhi to Varanasi on 5 September 2024,” the airline said in a press release.
The discomfort was attributed to fluctuations in cabin temperature, which were adjusted in response to passenger requests. Our cabin crew provided immediate assistance to the affected passenger to address the situation,” the statement added.
Several passengers reportedly fainted from the intense heat and suffocation, while others used magazines to cool themselves.
