Recruitment campaign for 10,000 jobs in Israel starts tomorrow | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: The second national recruitment campaign for Indian construction workers The construction workers leaving for Israel will start in Pune on September 16, after Israel asked for an additional 10,000 skilled construction workers.
The recruitment is part of the deepening cooperation between India and Israel in mobilizing skilled labor. Israel has also recruited 5,000 caregivers from India who hold certificates from recognized institutions and have completed a health care provider training program with at least 990 hours of on-the-job training. A team of assessors from the Israeli Population, Immigration and Border Protection Authority (PIBA) will visit India next week to conduct skills tests and select suitable candidates.
The recruitment is being done under a government-to-government agreement signed between India and Israel in November 2023. The focus is on four specific functions: framing, iron bending, plastering and ceramic tile laying.
Israel has recruited workers from India to fill a labor shortage after it suspended work permits for most Palestinian workers. The move followed an October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas militants that left more than 1,200 Israelis dead and hostages taken.
