Ministers will delete the bureaucracy and assume the 'blockers' to build nuclear reactors in Great Britain.

More nuclear factories will be built throughout the country and create thousands of very competent jobs, the Prime Minister and Chancellor said.

The last nuclear power plant that was built in the UK was in 1995. The construction of Hinkley Point C started in 2017 and it will open in about five years after several delays.

Last night Chancellor of the treasury Rachel Reeves told the Mail: 'We were once a world pioneer in nuclear energy, but now we keep bones in the global race. Years of delay from a conservative government that is too weak to hire the established interests, have stopped the country, but this government will not accept that.

'The opportunity offered is huge. New nuclear will stimulate British energy security and has the potential to create thousands of jobs and start economic growth – our number one mission. SizeWell C is expected to support 10,000 jobs and stimulate £ 4.4 billion in investments in eastern England.

“But grabbing the chance required daring decisions. This government takes up the new nuclear blockers to bring the UK back to the forefront of the global race. Our plans will shake the planning rules to make it easier and cheaper to build nuclear power stations throughout the country and to put an end to the endless hiding place and the debate. And they will help us to renew the nuclear deterrent and protect the UK for the coming generations.

'We have already started learning bureaucracy and the cracking of legal barriers that stop economic growth, including the overhaul of the legal challenges for large infrastructure projects. This government goes further and faster to start economic growth, to give more money in the pockets of working people. '

Sir Keir said: 'This country has not built a nuclear power plant in decades. We have been abandoned and left behind.

'Our energy security is hostage to take Putin hostage for too long, with the British prices rising to his whims.

“I put an end to it – changing the rules to support the builders of this nation and say no to the blockers who have strangled our chances of cheaper energy, growth and jobs for far too long.”

No new nuclear stations were built when Labor was last in power, but the construction was started on one when the Tories were in charge for the last time.

Ministers claim that their promise means that small modular reactors (SMRs) can be built in the UK for the first time.

They also said that they would delete 'archaic' rules that are currently limiting where core stations can be built at only eight locations.

Hompsling would be 'cut' and ministers would say 'no to the Nimbys' to ensure that new power plants can be built, they added.

They said that the nuclear industry was 'suffocated by the instructions' and this had led to the investments collapsing, they said, despite the fact that the VK was the first country in the world to develop a nuclear reactor.

Ministers will also invite technology companies such as Meta and Google that have been invited to build mini reactors on Power AI Datacentres.

The expiry date in the field of nuclear planning rules will be deleted and a nuclear regulatory task force will be determined, she added.
