Formula 1 fans were divided over Brad Pitt’s participation in the British Grand Prix last weekend.
The A-list actor was spotted at Silverstone filming for his upcoming sports action film, imaginatively titled F1, in the paddock alongside the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
Although Pitt and his co-stars have been spotted at several races over the past year while filming the Joseph Kosinski-directed film, he disappointed fans on Saturday afternoon.
The Oscar winner was spotted walking into the press room after qualifying for an ‘interview’ with real reporters, but several fans took issue with the fact that he was standing next to McLaren’s Lando Norris as he discussed his difficult qualifying session.
‘Lando has a heartbreaking interview while the fake F1 drivers from the crazy movie walk behind him and do their interviews. I can’t do this anymore. This sport is so unserious,’ someone wrote on X.

He was seen walking into the media box after qualifying, along with the real F1 drivers
“Imagine you just had a shit race and Brad Pitt is sitting right behind you giving a fake interview about his imaginary victory,” said another.
A third wrote: ‘Can you imagine being a race car driver this season and having to deal with Brad Pitt in the background just larping… I seriously can’t get over the fact that he’s literally there. At work. PRETENDING to do his job???? it’s so funny.’
Another fan added: ‘I find it quite disrespectful and weird that Brad is acting like this next to drivers who are experiencing so much emotion after a race and Brad is just in his own space.’
Others disagreed, saying the action was “disrespectful” and claimed both Pitt and the F1 drivers were just doing their jobs.
“He doesn’t interrupt any interviews with the drivers, he just does his job,” someone wrote.

Earlier this weekend, Apple Films released the first trailer and poster for the film, which is set for release in summer 2025.
In the promotional material, Pitt was seen wearing the helmet of his fictional team, ‘APXGP’, alongside Damson Idris, who played his teammate.
The film will feature all 10 Formula 1 teams, the sport’s drivers, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile and race promoters, and is expected to continue filming until the Abu Dhabi race in December this year.
The cast also includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, Samson Kayo and Callie Cooke.
