A teenager told the Oklahoma police that he slept in a toilet paper in a Walmart after running away from his grandparents' house.

Christopher Dunham, 16, was missing on Sunday by the couple when he disappeared from their Hazel Road house in Grove.

The mysterious disappearance took a turn when the teenager was seen to sneak back in the parental home on Tuesday evening after officers had served a house search order at the building.

Grove Police Chief Mark Morris believes that the teenager may have viewed the house, while his attempt to enter the house again, coincided with the last officer who left the building.

After the family eventually was reunited, the grandfather of Dunham later brought the teenager to the police station where he told his days of disappearance.

Dunham told the police that he built a fort from toilet paper in the Walmart store and slept in a dog bed, KSNF reported.

The police chief said that Dunham's grandparents made it difficult for the teenager because they told the police that they did not want his photo to be released, with reference to 'extensive family problems'.

“They were not very cooperative,” said Morris de Outlet.

A gross police officer and a children's employee of the Department of Human Services were the first to arrive at the grandparents' house on Tuesday afternoon when they were refused the entrance, so that the police were supplied to get a search order.

Around 19:30 later that night, the police arrived ready to serve the search order.

Even with the newly obtained order, however, the police were 'met hostility' and she again denied access to the house, according to the police chief.

After negotiating with the grandparents of Dunham, the authorities were allowed to search the house, a pick -up truck that was parked outside and the back garden.

Morris said reporters that the case is one of the most obscure with which he has ever been confronted.

“This is one of the most bizarre things in my law enforcement career,” Morris told KSFN16.

Morris says that electronics, cameras and mobile phones were also seized during the search.

A DHS officer will meet the teenager on Wednesday, Morris said and said that the teenager showed 'small' injuries.

“He may have a small business of freezing on his toes,” said Morris de Outlet. “It is unknown whether this was related to this runaway or an earlier incident.”

The incident comes more than a year after a neighbor who lives near the Dunhams 'got a fight' with the boy's grandparents last summer about his well -being.

They claimed that Dunham was seen outside the lawn during a heat index of 115 degrees.

The careful neighbors later expressed their concern about the boy's grandparents before they 'became combative'.

Another non -created neighbor came to the fore, just when the police ended the search around 10:15 am to claim that the grandparents had locked the teenager the house one evening when the 'rain was outside and cold'.

“He was crying outside and begged to let back,” the neighbor told the police.

“We heard crying and shouting at him to keep your mouth shut.”

The grandmother finally left the teenager back to the house, the neighbors claimed, KFOR.com reported.

The neighbor said she confronted the grandmother the next day.

The grandmother had claimed that they “didn't know how to deal with him,” according to the neighbor.
